mr_kimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 7, 2005 gold colour, white head. aroma of stale graina nd grass with some wheaty malt. light bodied. flavour is much better with some sweetness balanced by perfumy grassy hops.
gilvanblight (338), Windsor, Ontario, Canada Aug 9, 2008 Pale gold pour with lots of carbonation. Whispy head. Hoppy scent with a touch of spice. Nice deep flavour, hoppy and spicey. A touch bitter with a warm finish. JesseM (361), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Jul 9, 2008 Updated: Jul 10, 2008341mL bottle, from a sixer from The Big Bad Evil Beer Store. This is quickly becoming a style that I actually almost have respect for. Pours a nice golden with a large, rocky/frothy white head that fades quick to a creamy thick white cap. Aroma: Really nice combo of worty malts, toffee, and mild fruity esters. Nice! Delicious malted barley with a subtle hint of hops. Flavour: On the lighter side of things, but decent enough. Nice delicate grainy sweetness, balanced out by some nice crispness and mild hop presece. Only loses some points for a weird metallic/alcoholic unpleasantness in the finish, but nothing too bad, I’ll attribute it to the sixer being 2 months old, and from the beer store. A well crafted, crisp, refreshing and tasty Canadian Blonde/Cream Ale. Worth it, especially in this heat and humidity! EDIT: After having a couple more bottles, this brew really has grown on me, so I’m bumping the score up a bit. It seems different every bottle, but over-all the unpleasantness I mentioned earlier has changed on my palate. It’s got this really nice dry, almost Saaz-like hop bitterness now that really dominates the flavour profile, but still balancing itself out with the sweetness. Really good stuff, great for sessioning too. MrManning (1429), London, Ontario, Canada Feb 24, 2008 341 ml bottle- Pours transparent sparkling gold. Head is a quickly diminishing white fizz that recedes to a thin ring. Biscuity, malty, slightly grainy nose with good levels of hops present. In the flavour department, there is a good level of doughy biscuit along with sweet fruity malts. Moderate hopping lead this to a slightly bitter finish with a sweet grain aftertaste. Not too bad. Thanks for the bottle David! JohnBarleycorn (372), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 28, 2007 Bottle. Eye-pleasing orange-gold with a nice, tight foam. An effusive post-pour nose of cereal, malt and hops settles down to a Frosted Flakes (corn) aroma. Nice palate has a good, gritty grip. Flavour has a pleasant woody quality, followed by character fruitiness, sugar water and a medium-bitter finish. Don’t know what has taken me so long to try this; would have again. Cornfield (4255), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Aug 10, 2007 Bright yellow/gold bodied with a short-lived head, this has an aroma of sweet pale malts with a faint floral/herbal hopping. The flavor is a grainy sweetness with a solid herbal bitterness. Simple, but quite good for the current hot temperatures.
