Editor’s note: Also known as "Nibe Old Anchor Porter". <br /> Anker Porter er en dejlig rund og kulsort porter med lysebrunt cremet skum. Caribisk sukkermelasse giver sammen med ristet malt, spændende smagsnuancer af kaffe og lakrids.

[on tap at EBF 2008] Nice toasty aroma with no roast; nutty and British-like. Black with nice lacy tan whisps. Excellent strong porter with no burnt, stouty character and very fruity and nutty. Medium body, moderate carbonation, clean finish.

Draught@EBF2008. Black colour, not much head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, strong roasted malts and also some slight stinging alcohol. Flavour is alcohol, sweet malts, coffee and mild roasted notes. Aftertaste gets bigtime roasted malts meeting alcohol. Even though the alcohol hints it’s a quite nice and wellbalanced beer.

(Draught@EBF). Dark ruby, almost opaque color, small head. Licorice in the nose. Very solid, tasty porter. A bit sweetish, good malt profile, some licorice and coffee. Nothing extreme here, good! I like it and reserves a title "the best non-extreme beer @EBF 2008".

++Draught at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen.++ Black, small beige head. Roasty coffee aroma. Dryish and heavily roasty. Medium bodied with some dark chocolate. The mouthfeel seem to consist of a solid core with mushy edges. Some asphalt lingers in the finish. A solid porter with lots of things going for it.

(Draught) Almost black with a small, beige head. Sweetish-licoricey, moderately roasty aroma. Slightly sweet, nicely licoricey, smooth and pleasant flavor. Almost full body with low carbonation. Very well balanced, enjoyable and full-bodied stout, without being cloying.

Grovlam (4157) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 13, 2008
[EBF @ Copenhagen, September 2008] Large thick creamy beige – brown head that really lasted. Good display of lacework. Pitch black color. Aroma came out with a hint of what could appear bitter malty, but that disappeared as the beer warmed up. Then notes of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and liquorish appeared. Quite full bodied with a soft carbonation and somewhat thick texture. Moderated to heavy sweet flavor with good burned bitterness. Bitter malty roasted finish that lingered.
