Deep brown, true to type malty aroma. A hint of coffee grind, prunes, lots of malty body, but well packed with bitterness, too. Nutty. Bitter orange. Liquorice, fennel.

Bottled@CPH BF 2013. Reddish amber colour with a off-white mediumsized foamy head. Aroma is quite strong sweet malts along with some slight spices and zestyness. Flavour is spices, sweet strong malts along with some ryebread and a bit of toffee. Mellow spicelevel makes it quite enjoyable.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle vintage 2008. Reddish brown colour with a nice thick head. Aroma and taste of sweet sugar/caramel, orange and anis. Nice balanced carbonation and a tiny acidity from the citrus fruit. The 2007 edition was 7,0% and brewed with honey. IMO 2007 and this 2008 are NOT the same Rudolf dobbelbock. This is not so sweet, and IMO much better.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, dark amber with a dense, beige head. Classical aroma of roasted malt and rye bread. Solid body with some roasted malt and a dry but discreet bitterness. Rather clean and classic example of the style. 221207

50 cL bottle, thanks to Myrup. Pours slight hazy brown towards amber with a collapsing light brown head. Malty aroma, slight metallic note. Flavour is a solid malt flavour, slight dried fruity and with a little metallic edge. Solid bitterness in the finish.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark amber beer with medium brown head. The aroma is malty with toned down notes of anise and ginger. The flavor is malt, bread and weak hints of spices. Like the beer last year I think they have gone after making a good companion for the christmas lunch table.
Earlier Rating: 12/9/2007 Total Score: 3.2
Bottle. Aroma malty and rye notes. Colour brown with medium long lasting head. Taste malt dominated goes very well with a typical danish christmaslunch, which probably also is one of the goals. Nice beer.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. With courtesy of Myrup [Only Danish beers session @ Myrup’s, thanks for a great evening Peter] Huge thick and creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Clear sparkling body with an amber colour. Good display of lacework. Aroma of dusty grain, bread, caramel, fruit and straw. Over the palate notes of roasted malt, toffee and maybe a hint of citrus. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet flavour with again a hint of acidic. Malty sweet finish that lingers. Ok I guess, but for a dobblebock it is missing some body. 5 / 4 / 6 / 3 / 14

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, thx to thewolf. A clear, copper body with a creamy, beige head on top. Sweet and malty nose, with a fruity and hoppy aroma as well. Slightly cellarish flavor with sweetness, malt, some beefstock, grains and some fruit. Full, sweetish mouthfeel. Maybe too sweetish. Warming as well. Sweet and bitter finish. A quite nice beer, sure needing its hops, as it is a rather sweet one. (080301)
