4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 TET (685) - FINLAND - NOV 4, 2011
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2012 A very dark brown beer with a medium and blond head. Aroma is full of dark dried fruits, specially raisins and plums, bananas, some syrup with interesting spicyness, anis. In taste can be found raisins, plums, bananas and some drying, herbal spicyness, also red wine sauce. Almost full bodied with lightning carbonation. Very tastefull, balanced, slightly trappist like beer that based on dark fruits.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jesperhammer (1294) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 4, 2011
03-NOV-2011, draft @Mikkeller on ØJ-dag, 2010 vintage.
Clear brown with low white head.
Typical X-brew and a template for many danish X-mas brews.
Malty sweetness and spices dominate. Quite some carbonation.
Fine, sweet, and mellow.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Cunningham (1754) - Halden, NORWAY - OCT 24, 2011
UPDATED: JAN 23, 2012 Bottle. Darkish colour with a small white head. Fruity and moderate sweet aroma. Lots of sweet dark malt in the flavour, with moderate fruity notes. Not THAT good as many want it to be
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Benjii (1686) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 28, 2011
One year old keg at The Little Delirium Cafe. Pours a very thick, opaque brown colour with a thick light tan head. Aroma of caramel, treacle, leather and alcohol. Alcohol is quite present overall. Big caramel flavour with treacle, black pepper and light grassy notes. Quite dry with a foamy mouth-feel. Not sweet. Mild carbonation and CO2 prickle. Lovely.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BillWyce (302) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 24, 2011
From notes: bottle, 2007 vintage. Pours red-amber with a small, off-white head. Aromas of orangey citrus and yeast. Very slightly syrupy with some depth. Flavor begins as candied citrus that gives way to a lingering spice note of mostly coriander. As it warms, the citrus brightens a bit and a nutty note comes forward.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 joeneugs (1423) - Livermore, California, USA - AUG 30, 2011
On tap at Livermore Saloon. It pours muddy brown with a dense off white head. The aroma has sweet dark fruit with some banana and caramel. Lightly floral. The flavor is the same with some more caramel and descent bitterness in the finish. Low carbonation. Good Belgian ale.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Vignale (783) - Malmö, SWEDEN - AUG 30, 2011
