UPDATED: JUN 2, 2011 This beer reminds me of a good weizen eisbock. Or is it a dunkel eisweizenbock? Something. Those damn gnomes have me all flustered. Seriously. As an American male raised on Grand Theft Auto, George Carlin, and Gangsta Rap, gnomes don’t generally appeal to my demographic. But the beer in this bottle is quite good, those little red-hatted, ruddy-cheeked short bastards be damned. Dark and wheaty, yet with a clove-tinted port leaning that never gives in to pure sweetness. The winelike finish reminds you of the ABV, as does the glowing Christmas cheer spreading throughout your vascular system. Killer beer, but can cause holiday dementia. (1/3/09)
