Draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy reddish amber color with a medium frothy offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of spicy notes, yeast, banana, and berries. The taste is toffee, earthy notes, citrus, toastiness and a spicy finish. Medium-full bodied. Nice beer.

75 cl bottle from Systembolaget. Dark brown/ruby colour with off-white, foamy, medium sized head. Aroma is belgian yeast, caramel, malts and dried fruits. Taste is sweet with a little bitterness towards the end with notes similar to the aroma. Medium bodied with somewhat dry mouthfeel. Nice, complex and fitting for the season.

Acetobacter (816) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 28, 2010
Experienced on tap in a whiskey snifter. The beer pours a caramel color to medium brown, with a white head. The nose shows surprisingly prevalent Trappist yeast esters, almost to the point of seeming flawed. These same traditional flavors also come close to dominating the flavor profile of the beer, coming off as rough when compared to the noticeable but balanced yeast profile of iconic Belgian names. Alcohol adds depth, but the beer seems too dry and yeast-forward to be enjoyable, or comparable to the most sought after examples. Overall, not quite was what expected, and somewhat disappointing.
