Nouvelle note.

2008 bottle- Aroma of sour orange, thyme, rum, red grape and candy sugar. Appearance is murky red-brown unfiltered body with tan head. Flavor matched the nose; NO detectable alcohol presence- very smooth yet full bodied. Palate was effervescent. Amazing stuff.

(draught at Meddlesome Moth) pours opaque very dark brown, oily tan bubbles with nice lacing. Nose of raisin, brown sugar, plum, yeasty. Taste of raisin, toasty, sweet malt, Belgian yeast, and quite peppery. Well carbonated and dry finish.

Not a big fan of the spiced beers, but this is pretty ok. Lots of spices coming through; nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon. Balanced and not overpowering, the spices are adding to the flavour not completely taking away everything else.

75cl bottle. Ruby red, excellent lasting pale beige head and gentle condition. Big fruity spicy aromas with hints of caramel and roast barley. Sweet and spicy in the mouth with corriander and cinnamon apparent and a gentle distant hoppiness. Slightly sweet and syrupy aftertaste with a lingering roasted note.

Poured from a 750ml bottle a rich deep mohogany brown ale. Very beautiful in coloring. A slight white head that dissapates very quickly.Hard to distinguish the aroma but smells of yeast, alcohol, and malt. Flavor is dry, and spicy with slight hints of malt and dried fruits. Leaves very little taste lingering on the palate. Very mild for the strength of the beer. A refreshing way to start the holidays but not as good as other beers from Chouffe.

From bottle @ Cheval Blanc. Brown pour, some head. Aroma is nutty, some classic chouffe yeast, a hint of dried fruits, alcohol. Taste is sweet, not too cloying, some nice winter warmer spices. Palate is very good but average for the style. A fine choice.
