December 2011. From a 750 ml. bottle. Lots of dark malts, spices and fruit in this winter ale. Somewhat sweet, but good for a cold day.

75 cL bottle from ABS Drinks into a bowl shaped glass. Roast malt, spice and a hint of sweetness in the aroma. Malty, smooth, roastiness. Sweet caramel after taste. Nice bubbly head over a dark red-brown beer. A nice sipper.

Trevlig belgare som hade varit ännu bättre om den inte hade varit så förbannat söt. Utöver sötman smakade den jästig med inslag av torkad frukt, dessvärre tyckte jag även att den var lite för kolsyrad. Men balansen var i alla fall tillfredställande.

Söt och fruktig, jästig aroma. Typiskt belgiskt jästig och alldeles för söt för min smak. Långt ifrån den sämsta men ännu längre ifrån den bästa !

Dark brown pour with a big head. Aromas of dried fruit and brown sugar. Flavors of yeast, malt, and sweet dried fruit notes. 10% abv is well-hidden too. Classic Belgian strong ale.

Bottle gift from SJ. Belgian Strong night. Not a bad strong at all. Plum, fig, brad and hop. Mild caramel finish. I liked it.

Pours a five finger khaki head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Hazy amber/brown color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Light cinnamon and malty nose, flavor is dark fruit and cinnamon, warming but higher ABV is hidden. 750ml green bottle, gift from Madden Beverage.

Bottle shared by Lou - thanks! Dark murky reddish brown pour with a smaller head. Kind of a dense palate. Aroma of dark fruit and malt. Taste is dark fruit and herbs. Very good.

Sampled a small glass at Gordon’s where the beer guy was trying to sell off his Christmas stock to me. This beer is chocolate lab’s coat brown and has a spicy sugary aroma including cloves and a hint of cinnamon. Surprisingly sweet malty flavor and plenty of spice, like a turbocharged version of ’winter warmer’ beer made by US craft brewers. Cloying and almost oily. Good stuff.
