UPDATED: FEB 16, 2011 Sweetness of strawberry with an earthy bitterness. White frothy head with a dark red body. Not very sparkling (which explains the absence of a strong smell) and oily. Bitterness and sweetness are heavy but well balanced. An enjoyable beer, but a little disappointing given the other Chouffe’s. Update: did a retry and was more happy this time around. Still find the ratings here too high, but the beer looked fine and gave more aroma this time aroud.

the theme of this brewed belgium product seems very festive and taste in that way as well. Brewed with 5 types of spices it is simply amazing!

A 75oml bottle waz enjoyed by all that had the pleasure. Nice customary La Chouffe gnome/elf creatures on the bottle , only this time they’re homless bumbs sitting in the snow. Maybe not the best Christmas beer .The Thyme and Cutaco spices are good value . Its poweful @ 10 %, and malty ,with late floral hop tangs. It lacks just a little something ,i’m not sure what.

Sometimes you have a memory of what you’ve tasted in the past completely different than what you have in your glass. in these cases is not easy to rate. I know this beer is very good ... but not tonight. little aroma, taste too low.

2008 Bottle. Aroma of fruits and alcohol. Hazy amber body with thin head, lacing body. Flavor is filled with fruit and citrus with a hint of hops and malts... slightly tart with a dry finish... a nice warming power and very enjoyable
