On tap. Ruby red colour with beige head. Aroma is sweet and spicey. Flavours of caramel, malts and spices. Longstanding finish is sweet and medium alcohol. A little bit dry.
Ok-beer, but rather sweet

More of a murky orange color than dark brown. Otherwise, it is as advertised: fruity, light hops and strong. The alcohol is nearly undetectable.

Delicious dark winter beer. Fantastic flavor. Slightly boozy mouth feel. Kinda dry and dusty, but doesn’t detract from the overall experience.

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby red color with a beige head. Aroma is of spices light thyme, orange peel, some dark fruit, red berries, light funk and some peppery notes. The flavor is nice with spice notes of clove, thyme, brown sugary notes, subtle funk, orange peel, dark fruits and red berries. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. Overall my favorite Chouffe beer for sure.

Enjoyable winterbeer from La Chouffe this N’ice Chouffe. Has a dark look and taste and is overall heavy (also on the alcohol).
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Jabic (139) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 30, 2011
Ar: Deep cloves and raisins - orange.
Ap: Deep brown-red - slight haze - large light tan head with moderate retention - good lacing.
T: Leather and figs up front - cloves, black pepper, and orange - lightly bitter with smooth alcohol heat.
P: Light body and high carbonation - very dry finish.
O: Tasty winter brew with some hefty alcohol warmth - nice flavors, solid beer, if not outstanding.

750 mL bottle from a Trappist glass. Pours a dark, ruby red color with a small, rocky brown head. Aroma is immediately a strong skunky note...why did they put such a nice beer in a green bottle? Aroma is also characterized by a large dark fruit note...classic of dark Belgian brews. Taste up front is a fairly light combination of dark fruits...I get strong dates. Finish is quite dry and yeasty. There is a light spiciness in the middle accompanied by a mild citrus note, which may be the thyme. Overall, this beer is very enjoyable but does not really do much to separate itself from the others in the style.

Draft. Dark brown, murky colour. Little head. Aroma of roast, licorice and coffee malts. Flavour is dry sweetness, full of body. Never heard of this brew before, seemed to have missed it. Will not miss it again, great brew.
