Got this as a Valentine’s Day present from my wife. Very light on the hops. Sour, but reasonably well-balanced for 10%.

2015/02/13 - Pours a hazy, brown-amber colour with a foamy, khaki head that dissipates quickly. No lacing. Aroma is rather sweet; toffee, spices, dates, yeast, mild banana and some sour tones. Taste is yeast, mild banana, toffee, spices and a hint of rum. Has I hint of sour to it. Mouthfeel is thin, with biting carbonation and a sweet, warming finish. Pretty good, but nothing spectacular. Bottle @ home. Cloudy brown with low beige head, some sediments in the bottle’s bottom. Sweet caramel aroma, yeasty, faint banana notes, toffee. Too sweet flavor, caramel, date honey, yeasty, spicy. Lively carbonation, full body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ruby brown with great frothy head. Light aroma of dark fruit, wood, and rum. Wonderful taste of dark fruit, rum, molasses, lightly spicy. Smooth and easy drinking, slightly warming. I really enjoyed this beer. This is a great beer that I and my wife enjoyed on a number of cold winter nights. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

An elf came to me, bearing a fine gift. This gift was of beer! Probably the cutest mascot ever. Rich chestnut brown with ruby highlights, a fine froth of a head hangs about for a spell. For the grandeur of this elfish elixir, it is subdued in both aroma and taste. Not lacking mind you; traces of dark fruitcake, wood, leather and rum titillate the nasal passages and tempt bacchanalian behaviours. Velvety soft yet with enough prickle to ensure enjoyment, this festive fill warms as it journeys southward.

Bottle from GingRealAleTrail. Well I was a bit disappointed by this one. Pours medium dark brown, touch of red in it, small 1 finger head goes away quickly. Aroma of spices and port. Taste of initial spices, dark fruits, port, coffee, dark chocolate, then a touch of vanilla with a kick from the alcohol, but not much of a kick.

Smells really bad imho. Tastes quite good, though a bid one-dimensional. Had better, had worse.

Mudy brown color, small foam. Strong spices aroma. You can taste high alcohol volume, but you can’t taste itself.

0.33l bottle. Cloudy amber color with small head. Very spicy with some coffee notes. Very warming for whole body. Not very tasty, but good beer in cold winter day.

This is ridiculously easy to drink for it's strength. Can't taste the alcohol at all. Dark brown with a thin but creamy and persistent head. Light fruit taste, banana most notably. Really great wintertime brew.

Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen, 14.1.2015. 2010 edition. Thanks Desverger and Dorte! Very dark red. Deep aroma, a little vinous, ripe summer fruit like plum and date. Deep alcoholic taste, cherry and vinous. Full body, almost flat, rich, spicy, nutmeg finish.
