Tap@Mikkeller Bar, CPH - (2010 Vintage) dark brown pour with puffy beige head. Sweet malty and dark fruity aroma and taste, yeasty, plenty of dried fruits, spices, warming and very enjoyable.

From 75cl into Chouffe stem. Beautiful red-brown with a solid lasting head. All-around excellent beer - winter warmer kind of occasion. Alcohol is completely buried - dangerously easy to drink. Very good beer for a January evening in Leuven.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2015 33 cl bottle from Wine of Galilee in Tallinn (€ 2.65). Pours a hazy reddish brown colour. Head is light beige, much less of it than La or Mc had. Aroma is verrry nice, like a mixture of some liqueur and red gummy bears. I’ve never had Curacao so the strong, alcoholic citrusy bitterness reminds me of Triple Sec. There’s also a more delicate sweetness, much like vanilla (from the barrels I gather), even a bit of chocolate. Thyme is definitely there (at least for some nanoseconds), below the caramelly thickness. The aroma makes me hungry - would love such sauce with veal. Taste is above average sweet with caramel and chocolate notes (but does not taste like chocolate), dark (dried?) fruits and red forest berry bitterness and some berry sourness, and somewhat metallic dryness on the palate and in the finish, with loads of warming - even hot - alcohol. Body medium (though I think the alcohol kind of makes it seem heavier), carbonation average or slightly above, texture nearing soft but with some graininess. Overall? I definitely enjoyed this the most of the 3 Chouffes I had today, as I am a sucker for darker and more nuanced stuff. This beer has been a treat despite the palate- (and aftertaste-) related issues but for that I developed a cure - I just have to drink it in tiny sips and not waste much time in between these.

Muy buena! Sabor intenso y sabroso, con notas dulces de frutas. La único problema, es la falta de más aroma a alcohol

Bottle 33cl from Delhaize, @ home. Deep dark color, nice foam rapidly disappearing. A bit too sweet for me but less boring than most Christmas beers.

A dark reddish brown beer with a thick white head. A light, caramel malt aroma. Medium dry mouthfeel. A potent, vinous taste, loads of bittersweet malt, dark caramel and loads of ripened forest fruits, then a sour, winey flavour finishes the taste, this lasts into a long finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown color, with beige head, not too big. Smell is malt, caramel and maybe some herbal notes. Taste is quite sweet, licorice, malt, caramel. I expected something strange reading thymus between the ingredients, but I didn’t feel it. Alcohol is well hidden. Good, sure, but not the best from Achouffe.

Dark red with a beige head. Sweet and fruity aroma. Body is full, texture oily and medium carbonation. Balanced taste of candid fruits, raisins and dryed plums, herbs and chocolate. Semi-sweet finish. Excelent beer.

Bottle from Auchan Market, Luxembourg City!
Pours murky brown with high, off-white head. Smell has red fruits, yeast and dark malts. Starts with nice dark malt notes, caramel, toffee, dried fruits and belgian yeast. Goes into a fruity and yeasty finish with some toffee and caramek, alcoholic warming
