Pours dark red with a tanned head. Some lacings. Very strong sweetnes with the "right" aromas of yeast, fruits and prunes. Very abbey-ish. Finish a bit too gunsmoke bitter. Otherwise a very nice beer.

I am drinking this dressing Achouffe’s red gnome’s hat :)
A dark ruby brown color with a big creamy and cloudy tan head. Cardboard, pepper, plums and alcohol in the nose. Strong alcohol presence in the palate - fruity, spicey, some licorice- well-made as the most of Achouffe-products. Warming aftertaste.

Best chouffe yet! A bit brown with a nice syrupy sweet taste. Very easy to drink amidst the high abv but the belgians know how it’s done. Warming me up today like nothing else.

75 cl Bottle.
Dark red-brown, not the greatest head. Tidbitty nose, along with dates, figs and almonds. Body is huge. Salty at first, then almond plays first violin. Very malty, with a dried fruit feel and in the finish the residulal sugars show off.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
fresh 75cl bottle. Dark red-brown with a thin beige head. Spicy fruit aroma. Flavor is not too sweet and not to bitter. its dominated by the alcohol, but not in a bad way. feels suprisingly thin and sparkly for such a dark ale. Another quaity brew by the fine folks at Chouffe

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap. Pours a very dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma is earthy, barnyard, spicy, with yeast. Taste is semi=sweet, semi-bitter, alcohol, orange peel, spices. This is an excellent winter ale. I remember liking this in the bottle, but this batch on tap at Anam Cara is excellent.
