75 cL bottle. Pours deep dark almost black. Brown head. Smell of malts and chocolate/coffee notes. Dark roasted taste, well balanced with alcohol well hidden. Very enjoyable beer for the evening.

A dark brown beer with a fine light brown head. It has a very powerful sweet fruity aroma. The flavor is also powerful, a little sour, but with a nice sweet malt taste. A really good beer - that I definatly want to try again. The one I had tonight I had bought at the brewery and imported myself.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2005 (Bottle 75 cl) Quite dark, almost chestnut color, with a light brown head. Pretty full-bodied and heavy beer that lacks some finesse. Doesn’t taste heavily like alcohol, but has an unpleasant bitterness. 050599 and 051103

Warning! Early amateur rating! A Christmas beer with curacao and thyme. Dark and dry and a little sacharrine, The curucao and thyme are subtle. Odd beer! Not really joined up. Interesting though. Original rating 2.7

Draft! Clear dark brown beer, rich but a little dry. Porty tones with dark fruits. Very faintly spicy. A rich brew.

2014-01-16, draught at Mikkeller and Friends, Copenhagen, vintage 2009, 4 years old, 6-4-7-3-14=34
Dark mahogany color with ruby shades, small head. Good body structure, but also too much alcohol presence; caramelly, just moderately sweet, with low bitterness. Mature but without much character.
Not bad, but the world has evolved and this beer doesn’t shine anymore in the global panorama. Still, many years ago it deserved some love.

2003-06-29, bottle, 4 years old, 8-5-8-4-17=42
Beautiful ruby-amber color, nice perlage and persistent layer of foam. Nice malt aroma, with a touch of alcohol. Good body, hiding quite well the alcohol content; smooth, spicy. Ends with also some caramel.
