UPDATED: OCT 17, 2008 Bottle(2006) from Whole Foods. Dark maroon color upon pouring. Sweet dark fruity aroma. Some raisin and fig. Fruity sweet flavor. Some yeastiness. Some roasted malty goodness as well. Good quality winter brew. Alcohol is only slightly noticeable.

75cl bottle from 2006. Pours out like a Coke: see-through brown and fizzy carbonation with a quick reducing head. Not a real big aroma but a little fruit and sugar. Surprisingily light flavour and "thinish" mouthfeel. Sweet flavour with candied fruit and a nice spicy finish. Good but nothing amazing.

dark nut brown looking pour some nice visable carbonation w/ big off white fluffy head and nice lacing. light sweet malt aroma touch of spice and light alcohol. Good mouth feel nice coating and a smooth swallow. Good full carmel malt aroma some nice spicing and touches of plum and possibly a non sweet cherry in the finish. Alcohol is noticable in the swallow. Pretty darn good stuff though. Thanks to Kevin for sharing.

Dark brown in colour with a long lasting beige head, excellent lacing. The aroma is vinous, malty, some plums, apples and spices. The flavour is spicy, noticeable alcohol, very plummy, some bubblegum, yeast, light citrus. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes long, warming and fruity.

The plums really come out more as this warms up but so does the alcohol. This is good but at this points its not getting any better.

750ml bottle obtained in a trade with TheCheeseMan, thanks Dan.

750 mL bottle best before the end of 2010 poured into a 2 pint brandy snifter. N’Ice Chouffe is dark brown, near black in dim lighting. A pretty large head forms, but it’s not obscene. The aroma is spicy and sweet with hints of fruits, cardamom, clove, and licorice. The mouthfeel is medium with just enough carbonation. It’s sweeter than the nose let on, but it’s not overly sugary. Flavors of plums, licorice, and light spices abound while the alcohol stays in the background. I almost think quad as I drink this. This is another tasteful ale from the Chouffe line up. It’s pretty big, well balanced, and complex. Good stuff.

Pours a dark brown colour, slightly transparent. White, patchy and lacy head. Looks delicious. Aroma of sour fruits, caramel malts and nuts. Flavour of toasted malts, caramel, wood and spices. Full bodied with a round mouthfeel and a warming finish. Smooth and tasty. (7+4+8+4+15)

750 ml bottle. BBE 15.09.2014.
Pours a mahogany colour with a slightly beige, foamy head. Aroma of smooth dark chocolate, strong raisins, berries and wood. Flavour of sweet toasted malts, dark chocolate, raisins, nuts, berries, wood and light spices. Medium bodied, very smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Long, warming finish with some alcohol, sweet malts and nuts. Excellent Belgian Strong Ale. One of my favourite Winter seasonal beers so far.

Draft @ State Line Liquors. Medium sized tan head, fair retention and some stringy lace. Lightly hazy brown/orange hued ale. Fruity nose, light bananna esters, yeasty, bready, spicey. Medium body, lightly creamy mouthfeel. Lovely malty spicey flavors, pleasent fruitiness, hints of plums, some raisins, spices are just right. Finish is medium dry, fruity. A10%er? No way!
