Pours deep amber with a large white head that sticks around. Aroma of citrus, belgian style spices, alcohol, orange peel. Flavor is fruity, alcohol is present ( not so smooth ) spicey, citrusy, and carbonated. Good body, good brew.

1999 consumed in 2003. Brown and cloudy with a real fizzy carbonated head. The yeast from the bottom of the bottle fizzed alone at the sides of each glassful. Dark fruits in this one as opposed to the lighter fruit in the Soliel. Nearly identical finish. maybe more spicy and complex. Surely hides the 10+% very well.

dark brown pour - tan head. smells malty, sweet, caramel, fruity, etc. taste is identical, yet it is very light and pretty easy to drink despite the 10%. finish is nice and smooth , very easy drinking beer. something id like to age and see how it turns out in a few years.

Thanks to qmiester for sharing. Pours a cola brown color with some reddish hues. Largely dark fruit for an aroma though some hops and roasted malts are present as well. Complex flavor of dark fruit, roasted malts, and some hops. Light and lively. Overall, very enjoyable.

Pours a nice dark chestnut brown with a frothy head with a slight beige tint. Aroma consists of hints of maltiness, spices and thyme with citrus undertones. Very cmplex taste consisting of plum and dark berries, chocolate malt, sugar cane, balanced out by a nice spiciness and slightly dry hopped finish. Very tasty.

Vertical, with a 2002, 2003 and 2004 and I definately perferred te 2004, but I also hate oxidation. Dark ruby color. Very subtle aromatically, comparing multiple samples. Rich toffee and spice with a pretty overwhelming bitter and acidic flavor, along with an orange tone, which may come from spices. Musty yeast as well. Never really been to fond of it.

750ml bottle during the winter months of 2007-2008. Forgot to rate this, if it wasn’t for the bottle laying around 5 months later i would of never remembered. ah spring cleaning. This strong ale was notably hoppy but still retained a malty nature. Body was on the thicker side. Poured dark brown/orange. Was interesting but not a favorite.
