Poured a dark rosy amber to brown colour with a fluffy white head. Aroma was sweet and yeasty with roasted malts and spice. Faint notes of alcohol as it warms up. Flavor is rich with candied sugar sweetness and dark fruit accompanied by malt and traces of alcohol. Medium bodied with light carbonation and a warming finish.

Bottle 0,75. Coz za swietne piwo. Wyglad przepiekny, wielka i bardzo, bardzo trwala piana. Kolor czerwono bursztynowy. Swietny swiateczny aromat. A wiec mamy tu gozdziki, curacao, skorke pomaranczy, laske wanilli i przyprawy inne, trudne do zidentyfikowania. Smak tresciwy, sosnowy, runo lesne, powidla ciasteczka korzenne. Alkohol ukryty doskonale, super piwo na zimowe wieczory. Doskonale rozgrzewa. Jest metnawe ale delikatnie. Swietna etykieta idealnie pasujaca do pory serwowania tego piwa.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and dispensed to a snifter displaying a deep, brownish mahogany color, with ruby highlighting showing at the stem, a modest, bubbly layer of off white/light tan head foam that quickly reduced to a thin ring & film, and spots & strands of lacing. The nose was sweet, with dried fruit, mild spice, and lurking alcohol. The taste was similar notes, exposed a warming nature to the alcohol, a medium+ body, and some spritz to a carbonation that combined with a touch of tartness for the finish. Strong, non-boozy, yet tasty.

The beer pours an opaque brown color with a medium ivory head. The smell isn’t very strong whatsoever; only hints of roasted malts and molasses coming through. The taste, though, is amazing; initially, there is a slight sourness and a slight umami, but the aftertaste reveals layers of nuttiness, toffee, booze, brown sugar, and toasted malts. The palate fuses an oily texture, medium-light body, and a soft carbonation.

Bottle of 33cl, in a Tulip Chouffe glass. Well, it’as a good brown beer, but not a really good Christmas one.Let me explain : we got a nice aroma, taste and palate, but it dissapear so fast that it’s not even fun and good to drink it. In fact, we’re in front of a middle-class beer. Try it, but don’t spend too much on it.

Pours dark brown with red highlights, a moderate bubbly head. Nose is dark makes, a bit of dark fruits, candy sugar. Taste is a bit dark fruity/estery up front, then tons of molasses, wintertime spices. Very high carbonation. Hides the 10% well. Good warmer.

Fruity strong ale with a note of peppercorn. Fairly dry and with a touch of floral hops. A very nice Christmas beer. Went very well with pulled pork burgers.

330 mL bottle from Total Wine, Chesapeake, VA. Pours brown with a bubbly khaki head. Aroma of light chocolate, candi sugar, and faint flowers. Taste is of raisin, nutmeg, and orange peel. Alcohol warming is very noticeable. A very good holiday ale.

Draught @ ’t Brugs Beerje, Brugge. Dark red with a thin head. Has some light winter fruits with smooth malts more than evident.
