4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Skeegle (566) - Maryland, USA - DEC 18, 2007
Very very malty and spiced well. Wonderful brown sugar and toffee, and actually there is some roast evident but it is extremely faint. Taste almost like an eisboch but with many more spicey notes. Sour apple dominates the nose, some prune on the swallow. Very nice indeed, and it leaves a beautiful thick lacing of tan all over the glass.
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 judasbeer (431) - Budapest, HUNGARY - APR 25, 2009
Almost the same appearance as the Mc Chouffe. A little bit deeper in the red saturation and the head is less stable. The aroma is quite peppery at first, and then comes fruity and herbal. Balanced, medium sweet roasted malts along with tons of herbals and spices like thyme and curacao. In the finish the mouthfeel gets more peppery and herbal. Medium to full bodied with lively carbonation and "NIce" warming alcoholic edge. It’s nIce for any occasion, especially for cold winter nights.

2006 bottle. Beautiful pour with robust head. Nice spice and fruit scents appear off the nose and merge with yeast and very quiet hop aromas. Nice full bodied taste with a vast array of flavors spanning my spectrum; fruit, cinnamon, coriander, citrus, yesty dusty notes. Had this brew after devouring a thanksgiving day turkey and was left with an enormous and sleepy grin. A very delicious beer. One to retaste and rerate and enjoy every time. especially during this season

Pours a dark chocolate amber, not hazy with a thick dirt-colored head. Aroma is very clean, notes of nuts (almond and hazelnut), some vanilla and hints of caramel/candi sugar. Flavor is very nutty with earthy notes mixed with raisin and vanilla. Definite notes of candi sugar however it is more of an accent than taking over the flavor. subtle notes of orange zest. Body is creamy yet mixed with high carbonation. A very great, well-balanced winter ale.
