Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours brown-red with a foamy thickish head that settles to frothy layer after a while. It’s attractive. Unfortunately I have a cold at point of testing som I have no smell sense but as far as I remember the aroma is malty and yeasty, a little burnt. It’s good, but currently it could be skunk living in there and I wouldn’t notice (damn country, Sweden). The taste full of flavours, caramell, special B, dried fruits, but also some balancing bitterness. Long aftertaste. Excellent. Yummy. Body is light to medium and palate spritzy. I like it. A lot.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2012 A very dark brown beer with a medium and blond head. Aroma is full of dark dried fruits, specially raisins and plums, bananas, some syrup with interesting spicyness, anis. In taste can be found raisins, plums, bananas and some drying, herbal spicyness, also red wine sauce. Almost full bodied with lightning carbonation. Very tastefull, balanced, slightly trappist like beer that based on dark fruits.

Pours a dark brown with dark red highlights. An off-white head is quick to form and lingers for quite some time leaving moderate lacing. Aromas of dark fruits, freshly pulverized mint leaves, spicy yeast, suggestions of candy malt, and hints of funk. Taste is equally complex with dark fruits, berries, yeast, pepper corn, mint, sweet breads, candy sugar, piney hops, and a some slight earthy notes all mixed together in equal parts. Carbonation is full and lively yet the alcohol is non-existent. The finish is short and dry, leaving your mouth freshly spiced with mint and peppercorn. The first Winter brew I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all year.

A very hazy, ruby/brown colored beer. It has a thick, light beige head. An aroma of raisins, caramel and sweet prunes. The taste has some spices, like pepper, with notes of dark fruits. Very rich taste overall. A warm feeling in your mouth, at the end. A very good beer.

Pours a light plum color from the bomber with a creamy off-white head and plenty of lacing. Loaded with chewey malts, pie spices, raisin, and a fair amount of alcohol. A great winter warmer.

Pours a dark brown colour, slightly transparent. White, patchy and lacy head. Looks delicious. Aroma of sour fruits, caramel malts and nuts. Flavour of toasted malts, caramel, wood and spices. Full bodied with a round mouthfeel and a warming finish. Smooth and tasty. (7+4+8+4+15)

750 ml bottle. BBE 15.09.2014.
Pours a mahogany colour with a slightly beige, foamy head. Aroma of smooth dark chocolate, strong raisins, berries and wood. Flavour of sweet toasted malts, dark chocolate, raisins, nuts, berries, wood and light spices. Medium bodied, very smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Long, warming finish with some alcohol, sweet malts and nuts. Excellent Belgian Strong Ale. One of my favourite Winter seasonal beers so far.

Sweet lightly roasty and fruity aroma. A rich brown color with excellent light-tan color head that thick and sits up causing a nice lacing. Moderately sweet and roasted flavor with light spiced notes and hints of walnut. Really a great winter beer.
