Bottle (about one year old). Beautiful reddish colour with an off white head. Aroma: sweet malt, caramel, big fruitiness, berries, pears. Flavor: sweet, malty & estery, fruit, berries, caramel, yeast, lightly fenolic, light alcohol. Nice!

10/01 0.75 l bottle courtesy of ogivlado, thanks a lot for sharing! It poured nice murky reddish brown body with medium sized compact head that, as such, lived quite long. Strong, pleasant and complex aroma - malty, yeasty and slightly alcoholic. Caramel, coffee and banana are obvious, its fruitiness shows cherry, plums, dark berries, notes of orange hops and some herbal spices. Flavor was also good and not less complicated, (sweet) fruity malts mixed with (bitter to sour) herbal hops and spices offers a heavenly palette for the palate. Despite all of that alcohol is quite felt, specially near the finish. Finish itself was long, pretty much reflecting the flavor in a sweeter way. Damn complex and really good, I’m looking forward to try the other gems of this brewery!

750ml shared... Pours a deep amber with an average tan head that fades... very pleasant aroma filled spices, apples, raisins, candi sugar and Belgian yeast... light to medium body with more of the same... smooth and pleasing finish... there is a nice holiday sweetness... great.

Draft @ BSP. mmmm....poured a near opaque brown-black with decent dense beige head. Nose is fruity, yeasty, perfumy, with lavender coming to mind. Equally complex on the palate, with initial plummy sweetness melding with winter spices towards a delicate, flowery finish. A very nice Belgian winter brew.

750ml bottle. Pours a cloudy dark amber with a nicely laced off-white head. Aroma is rich, with a backbone of sweet caramel alongside a hoppy citrus bite, dark fruit, autumnal spices, and some roasted malt. Taste is rich and medium-bodied with an initially sweet flavor of caramel, roasted malt, and coffee giving way to a lingering finish of hops, spice, and a bite of brown liquor. An excellent cold-weather brew and another winner from Chouffe.

bottle, brown with good head. Fruit, brown sugar, spice, plum. Good balance and finish. highly carbonated, hides the alcohol well.

On draft at Brouwer’s. Pours a very dark bronze with a dense Belgian head. Aroma has dark fruits, brown sugar, black cherries and just a bit of citrus. Spices come through more in the flavor, giving it more of the holiday-ale feel. Great palate - not overcarbonated, very smooth. Great.

I have cellared 3 of these trying the first tonight. Pour is dark brownish red with small white head. Nose is that of yeast, coriander and other holiday spices. The taste is sweet, yet not unpleasantly so, with touches of dark fruit, caramel, holiday spices, and a nice warming alcohol finish. This is a great beer, get it while you can.
