4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 tenghave (402) - Taastrup, DENMARK - FEB 4, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2007 Købt i Netto for 30 kr. (70 cl. flaske).

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 french tickler (642) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 14, 2007
Dark brown poor with a reddish hue. Nice frothy thick beige head. Aromas of sweet caramel, typical chouffe yeast, curacao and very herbal scents. Very "natural" beer. Very herbal bitterness... far from aggressive, very mellow. Very balanced mouthfeel, creamy, just enough sweetness to top it all off. Alcohol is present. Nice caramel like aftertaste with a dry finish. Very unique and natural, i love it!

0.75L. Poured brown with bits of sediment and tan head. The aroma has dark fruit, some sweet malts, a bit of spice, raisins, a wisp of chocolate and something vaguely citrus and sort of undefinable. Flavor is similar to the aroma with cherries, dates, plums, raisins, cinnamon, some subtle maltiness, a spice or two and silky chocolate. Nice dark fruit and chocolate after taste. No sense of the ABV.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1617) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 14, 2009
ohoh... gonna be a tad tipsy in an hour...
Poured out a nice deep reddish brown brew with a decent foam up but excellent retention and lacing leaves plenty of the light brown crown behind. Lots & lots & lots of chunks! Comes out quickly with a medium strength complex spice and yeast, dark malts, dark berries, weak raisin, orangeish. Great flavours here: more of the same compared to the nose with clove and soft pepper coming out more, oak?, fig, lots of thick rich malts, weak alcohol. This turned out to be one beer that I would prefer to not let warm excessively as it started to fall apart. Smooth on the mouth, finishes sweet and invites you back for another sip. Highly drinkable. My cellar should find a home for a couple of these.
