2006- Pours dark brownish amber w/ a full, semi creamy froth. Aroma of dark belgian rock candy. Medium nectar w/ mellow residual effers creates a soft creamy texture. Sweet yet refined and balanced. Flavors of dried fruit rollup w/ spices. Cherry, plumb, cocoa, melon, moscato grapes, bubblegum dust, bark, molases, The finish is finely bittered just enough to allow the moderate sweetness to linger. Not cloying. No medicine or cherry caughdrop. Very pleasant. Highly recommended.

This beer was the high point of my vacation in Illinois. Very dark brown with good lasting head. Malt and carmel with smooth finish. I do not know if it is available in Central New York, but you can be sure I’ll look for it.

This is great, great stuff. Easily the smoothest beer I’ve ever had above 7% (it’s 10%) and one of the smoothest ever. Plums, raisins, and a very enchanting honey quality make this like a thick mead. Very rich and extremely subtle, the opening, mid-palatte and finish are very synonymous.

Pours a beautiful opaque chocolaty brown with a fine-bubbled head. The malty and strongly spicy aroma has a firm hint of chocolate. Flavor is rich with a nice balance of hops and malt, as well as an overtone of cloves and a hint of sweetness. Finish is lively and tingly.

Clear dark red-brown with big, foamy, beige head / Elegant, sweet nose of dark fruit, orchard fruit, brown sugar, and oak / Medium body, lively carbonation, moderately sweet and syrupy but with good, hoppy balance, and light bitter finish / Smooth, mellow flavors of toffee, date, raisin, orange peel, chocolate, thyme, black pepper, and oak / A stunner.

Delicious dark winter beer. Fantastic flavor. Slightly boozy mouth feel. Kinda dry and dusty, but doesn’t detract from the overall experience. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had this beer for Christmas Eve. Cloudy dary brown with amber tint and creamy head. Malty fruity aroma. Sweet malty flavors with dried fruits and spice flavors. Alcohol masked nicely.

Deep deep brown with a lingering brown head. Wafting notes of spice, rum and raisin. Wonderful in the mouth, thick and rich, complex - a bit of funk from the yeast, christmas cake flavours of fruit and nut, and a rich bitter aftertaste. One of my favourite beers.
