Copper brown pour with a fluffy off white head. Fruity, malty aroma with a little spice and just a hint of hops. Good balance of sweet fruits, malt, vanilla and understated hops. Fairly clean and warming finish. A really nice winter ale which helped ring in the new year.

Pours a slight hazy brownish amber with an average fluffy off white lacing head. Aroma is spicy, orange, a little metallic, peach pie, nice and fruity. Flavor of spicy yeast, orange, a little roasty malts. Alcohol was non-detect.

2007 bottle. Dark brown with a frothy tan head. Nice caramel, candi sugar aroma with spices. Light to medium body. Sweet brown sugar and spices mixed with a dry bitter alcohol twang to finish. Very good aged xmas beer.

Another dark brown brew. Not much of a head once it settles but it lasts. Herby, sweet, spicy. Drying finish. The thyme is noticable as is the curacao orange peel but they don’t dominate. The spiciness and candi sugar sweetness abound. As I close in on the bottom of the bottle I imagine playing in the fields with the gnomes, speaking of memories of days gone past and dreaming dreams of a future perfect. Ah, you gnomes. You purveyors of fine Belgian brews. You rakers of mash and shovelers of hops. You bottlers of visions. I toast thee and frolic in round about ways.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2006 Draft. Pours a dark brownish amber with a full off white head. The aroma is full of sweet spices, citrus. The flavor was smooth and sweet with a nice alcohol finish that lingered on the palate. A very good strong ale, and a favorite of the dAchouffe line for me.
