Bottle gift from SJ. Belgian Strong night. Not a bad strong at all. Plum, fig, brad and hop. Mild caramel finish. I liked it.

Brown to russet red, this nutty sweet beer promises much but doesn’t quite live up to the hype. Even the nuttiness disappoints.

Cor marrom escuro, turva. Espuma boa, bege e média persistência. Aroma de frutas escuras, secas e tostado. No paladar um alcoólico que remete ao vinho, encorpada, frutada e vivaz. Retrogosto levemente amargo. Excelente para os dias frios. Harmonização com carnes intensas e queijos temperados e roquefort.

Deep cola colour with inch high aerated beige head. Aromas of plums, dates, currants, figs, toffee and spices abound. The taste is expectedly sweet - candi sugar, the dark fruits and spices are all there. Delicate light hoppiness in the finish that stops it being cloying. Nice full body and chewy. Great winter sipper.

Pours cloudy medium amber with two fingers of rocky tan head, excellent retention and good lacing. (4/5) Nose is caramel, dark stone fruit, candi sugar, Belgian yeast, orange peel, mild spice. (8/10) Taste is moderately strong sweet, mild bitter. (8/10) Full bodied, low carbonation and creamy texture, mildly boozy finish. (4/5) Really mild booziness, with the alcohol perhaps contributing to the overall sweetness, but otherwise present only as a mild warming. Pleasant enough, and a fairly standard BSDA - to the extent that there’s such a thing as a “standard” BSDA - but hellaciously expensive for what it is. Good? Yep. Great? Mmmm… maybe, maybe not. Worth the price? Probably not. (16/20)

Fles33cl. Kleur amber/bruin met creme schuimkraag. Die vrijwel meteen dood valt. Geur kruidig en rood fruit Smaak zoet en fruitig, maar vooral kruidig en geroosterde mout. Stevig en warm.

Dark purple colour with off-white head. Aroma of roasted barley malts, yeast, plums, raisins, caramel and spices. Similar are flavours, with sweet fruity taste. full body, low carbonation, alcohol is well hidden. Really has 10% abv.?

Old rating. Great Christmas ale. Ruby colored. Berries, cherries, candy sugar, caramel, nuts, Clive, Belgian, a little booze heat. Mildly bitter and full bodied. Nice. Or should I say n'ice.

(Bottle). Beautiful aroma of yeast, light malt, caramel, cola and mellow spices. Unfiltered dark brown complexion with lingering tan head. Complex flavors include cola, caramel, Belgian malt and subtle hop balance. Excellent. Well crafted. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
