For those who aren’t afraid of big and bold beer! Made with a blend of roasted barley, chocolate and amber malt, this Imperial Stout has many deep flavours of rich and dark fruit and is naturally carbonated to give an incredibly smooth finish.

A solid stout, pours a dark black with thin to non existent tan head. Smells if dark chocolate, roasted bold coffee, and subtle berries. Taste is very much the same. Mouthfeel is slick but full, almost syrupy, which is the only drawback to this beer. A really solid stout with no hint if alcohol for its strong 8.6%.

Decent cocoa and roasted malt flavor. Gets better as it warms. Doesn't drink like 8.5. Mouthfeel is thinner than a RIS probably should be, but it's not too bad.

Craft beer advent calendar day 14. Pours an opaque black with a thin brown ring of head and small amounts of lace. Aroma is roasted malts, licorice, chocolate and sweet dark dried fruits. Flavour is roasted malts, alcohol(with a bourbon like touch), licorice, moderate bitterness, sweet dark dried fruits, cocoa, and light tobacco notes. Decent ris.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2013 CBAC day 14. Pours an opaque black with a small brown ring. Aroma of roasted malts, cocoa, chocolate, light vanilla and bourbon on the finish. Taste is roasted malts, dark chocolate, bourbon, tobacco, light vanilla and a bit of alcohol warmth on the finish. Overall it?s really well balanced and a full flavored ris.

Advent Calendar. Considering how undrinkable the other Nickel Brook beer in the calendar was, I wasn’t excited about this one. But it wasn’t bad. Pours thick and dark, like an Imperial Stout should. But the taste up front is quite sweet and cheap booze. But that gives way to a nice bitterness. Could use a more balance.

Deep brown near still with almost no head. Chocolate, malty, fruity aroma. Taste is heavily bitter, lots of molasses, chocolate, anise, raisin. Meh it’s ok.

341ml brown bottle. Black pour, dark brown foam witha few random lace spots in the glass. Nose has dark chocolate, raisin and roasted malt. Taste has chocolate and roasted malt and light alcohol. Fairly dry, aftertaste is of cocoa, bitter dark chocolate, roasted malt, bit of dark fruit and trace of tobacco. Full bodied, pretty soft carbonation, heavy and creamy mouthfeel. Overall a bit more complex than I was expecting, not amazing, but a competent version of an Imperial stout.

Advent 15. Pours like cold oil which is OK. No head. Thick aroma holds promise of payoff to come (I hope). Big flavor. Carbon, chocolate, alcohol and fruit....will let it warm up and continue notes....unfortunately keeps getting more bitter and less interesting.

Dark brown pour. Aroma is roasted malt with some brown banana and cocoa. Dark chocolate, some ash in the body. Quite boozy, even for 8.5. Too boozy and burnt.

Little overpowering in the alcohol, limits natural stout flavoring, not a huge fan. Points for originality and attempt. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10
