For those who aren’t afraid of big and bold beer! Made with a blend of roasted barley, chocolate and amber malt, this Imperial Stout has many deep flavours of rich and dark fruit and is naturally carbonated to give an incredibly smooth finish.

Glass at Stout Irish Pub (Toronto). Pours black with medium beige head. Aroma is quasi inexistent. Taste is interesting though, with good notes of barley, figs, raisins, plum, chocolate, and coffee. Sweet but drinkable. Alcohol is well hidden. Thin for the style. Enjoyable, but far from the greatest of its style.

341mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Nose brings out dark fruits, roasted malt, and caramel malt. Flavour brings out caramel roasted malt and some dried dark fruit - great balance between the two. Carbonation is lively but nice enough, though the whole thing feels a bit dead in the mouthfeel. Solid beer, just nothing overly interesting.

#14 advent calendar. Strong dark beer. Pours almost black, small brown head. Mild carbonation. Smells of dried dark fruit, fig, coffee. Taste is similar to smell with the dark roasted malts and fruit flavours. Some chocolate and coffee notes. Dark fruits make it a little sour. Not a bad stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rating #833 - December 14, 2013 - Beer 14 from the Craft Beer Advent Calendar 8.5%. Beautiful dark brown pour with a fairly foamy tan head with mild lacing. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasted barley, mild alcohol. Taste is layered with hints of vanilla and chocolate and espresso. Medium-heavy alcohol warmth but not a lot of alcohol on the palate. Very nice.

A solid stout, pours a dark black with thin to non existent tan head. Smells if dark chocolate, roasted bold coffee, and subtle berries. Taste is very much the same. Mouthfeel is slick but full, almost syrupy, which is the only drawback to this beer. A really solid stout with no hint if alcohol for its strong 8.6%.

Decent cocoa and roasted malt flavor. Gets better as it warms. Doesn't drink like 8.5. Mouthfeel is thinner than a RIS probably should be, but it's not too bad.
