750 ml bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs; thanks DuffMan). 2013 vintage is listed on the bottle as 9.5%abv with 70 IBUs, and is named Winey Bastard (which defaults to this beer). Bottle is a slow gusher. Looks good; a mostly opaque very dark (almost black) cola with ample beige head that is both fizzy and foamy, and dissipates very slowly. Smells of dark malt and oak alongside a notable grape and vinous presence. Tastes like it smells with a pleasantly vinous medium full-bodied mouthfeel. A bit of roast and bitter hops on the tongue as well. Very vinous, but enjoyable.

Bottle on the RBSG bus. Thanks! A: Black body, cappuccino head. N: Leather, cocoa, pinot noir, tobacco, some coffee and vanilla. Currant jam and a bit of acid. T: Sweet and a touch tart. M: Medium body, some alcohol. O: Iím not too big of a fan of pinot aged stouts, and I canít claim this one changed my mind. Itís enjoyable, but I just think that pinot and Imperial Stout are too different to ever work together in a profound way.

Bottle, shared by ametras. Black pour with rich foamy brown head. Aroma is quite winey, nice red wine notes, light leather, quite oaky, definitely get the pilot noir barrel. Taste is bitter, quite roasty, light winey notes, oaky tannic finish, light ash. Palate is full bodied with med carbonation. Tasty.

Bottle from LCBO. Aroma of sweetish red wine with undertones of chocolate and raspberries. Very dark with light brown head. Bit thinner than expected, but still nice. Better than expected.

750 mL bottle under the Winey Bastard name. Opaque purple black pour, tall foamy dark tan head. Definitely a pinot noir aroma and flavour, lesser so on some of the usual stout characteristics of roasted malt. Heavier body.
