A boldly hopped, full bodied American style IPA. Brewed using primarily Nugget hops give Headstock IPA a distinct hop flavour, bitterness and aroma. It also used a blend of classic European and North American malts to enhance the body and flavour. No additives. No preservatives. Naturally caronated for a smooth, crisp finish.

Hazy gold brew with long lasting head. Citrus and pine aroma. Nice grapefuit flavour leading to medium bitterness. Overall a nice brew and one of the better ones I have had.

Average in almost every aspect. To break it down, looks nice enough with its generous head, feels a bit creamy on the palate. Nice floral aroma, mild bitterness in taste with some ok citrus accents. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

473ml can, production date 01.14.14 (about a month old). Pours golden orange with a bubbly white head. The aroma really stands out, sweet, floral hops. Itís tough not to take a whiff with every sip. Sweet citrusy up front with piney, bitter aftertaste. Could be a bit more bitter. A nice local IPA that is both satisfying and sessionable. Bonus marks for putting the date on every can.

Big can. Looks amber. Aroma of floral hops, some pale and caramel malts, and some dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. A pretty mediocre IPA.

Tried at the Hop In Brew in Calgary. Pours cloudy light orange. Smell of mango, pineapple and pine. Velvety texture on the tongue. Taste is a great combination of the citrus notes mingled in with the hop and bitterness. Well balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a rich golden hue with a frothy white head, aroma notes include Grapefruit, Mango and other citrus notes. Tasting notes include big upfront alpha hop notes of pine resin, and Grapefruit juice bitterness. Excellent IPA!!

Rating #914 - January 15, 2014 - 473ml can from Coop. Pours a golden amber with a bubbly white head, little retention. Aroma is syrupy malt, caramel, burnt sugar, and lots of grapefruit, orange sweetness. Medium body, light alcohol warmth. Palate is more sweet malty notes, lots of citrus, and a stark dry-hop character. Sessionable at 7% and 80 IBU.

Served in: nonic pint glass A - beautiful opaque copper colour with two fingers of head that remains for quite some time. there is quite a bit of yeast floating around in the glass which for some takes away from the look of the beer but i donít mind it. leaves decent lacing around the glass S - not very strong on the nose but there is a definite citrusy (grapefruit = my favourite!) presence in it which is a big reason why I love IPAís so mucH. there may be a hint of pine in there but its hard to tell as the citrus is the most powerful T - amazingly hoppy and bitter which is just what Iím looking for! the citrus is present but not as powerful as in the smell as the hops take over and is a big reason why I was originally drawn to this beer. the aftertaste is great as well as it leaves that bitter taste that IPA heads love. a bit of malt is coming through the more i drink. M - very smooth tasting and moderately carbonated. the aftertaste isnít as refreshing as I find some other IPAís, but the bitterness remains for quite some time and its good enough for me ;) O - i tried this beer at the craft roundhouse festival in toronto, and seeing as how Iíd had quite a few beers when i tried it, I figured i should give it a go completely sober. While its definitely not the best IPA iíve tried this summer, I will definitely be buying a few more cans as i did enjoy it quite a bit. the can itself puts off the image that it will be very citrusy...but in the end the taste turns out to be much more bitter than i expected...not saying thats a bad thing though ;) I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new IPA to try although it does cost a bit more than your average tall can. worth a try in my eyes. definitely think the smell could be a little stronger but the taste actually ends up being pleasantly surprising after that. good beer from nickel brook Serving type: can

Served in a 4oz taster at Barley Brothers in Winnipeg. Again, a decent IPA - but could use more body.
