We admit it. We have a problem... We love our hops. We especially adore the amazing science of hops! As homage to our favourite wonders of nature, we present to you our award-winning Headstock IPA. The flowering humulus lupulus hop-cone provides us with the vital acids, essential oils and resins that permeate throughout our IPA. The result is a deliciously obscene wallop of tropical fruit, citrus and pine flavours and aromas any hop-head would gladly give a DNA sample for. We conclude that hop science is one tasty passion.

Great IPA from a solid Ontario brewery. This years batch seems even better than last years. A very hoppy beer that’s a dark orange/amber colour. It’s a big IPA, a strong, full body with enough of a malty base to tie down hoppiness. A great beer at a great price too!

2015/10/24 - Pours a clear, light copper colour with a soapy, off white head that quickly reduces and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is heavy pine, tropical fruits (mango, lychee), citrus and caramel. Slightly catty. Taste is caramel, pale roasted malt, lychee, citrus and dank (mildly catty) hops. Mouthfeel is light to medium and slick with average carbonation and a long, juicy, bittering finish. A great "go to" IPA from the LCBO. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Finger of off white head, fades to a blanket, nice lacing. Fairly clear gold colour. Resin, tropical fruit, blueberry, biscuit. Matching flavours, with pineapple, malt sweetness, light creaminess with sharp bitter finish. A little more bitter than I recall.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2015 Pours light gold, fluffy White head, aroma some light bready malt hidden behind some dank hops, with some grapefruit. Flavor has some malt sweetness balanced by a firm bitterness. Grapefruit and resiny hop aroma.

473 ml can @ Timo A.
Pours clear golden color with a small head. Strong resinous and piney aroma, sweet hops and caramel. Sweet mango, orange, resinous hops, caramel malts and some bready notes. Slightly stuffy overall feel, sweet. Maybe not very fresh anymore. Decent.

Canned. Hazy orange body, small white head. Surprisingly fresh and malty aroma, with summer notes. The taste is deep, continuing with more fruity accents than the aroma. The finish is lovely, and comes in phases.

Can from LCBO. Pours a translucent orange with a small off-white head. The nose strikes at first as excessively resiny, then mellows as the jammy sweet malty notes surface, as well as some musky hints. Taste is malty and citrusy sweet with a nice resiny lingering bitter finish. The mouthfeel seems a tiny bit too thin for the bitterness overload. But overall it’s a pretty nice IPA. Probably among the nicest I’ve yet to purchase from the retrograde system called LCBO.

0.473 can. Clear, light amber color and a large, off-white head. Aroma of citruses and other fruits, most notably banana, strawberries, and perhaps a dash of kiwi - quite nice, almost like a smoothie. Taste is bitter, in a hoppy sense, with a strong addition of the aforementioned fruits. Medium to full body, creamy texture, and soft carbonation. Finish is bitter, perhaps too much so given the beer’s fruity character. Overall, although the beer would appear as a standard IPA, it happens to be quite curious especially with its creamy, fruity, smoothie-like flavor.
