A hazed golden DIPA with a thin off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with catnip hops, resinous and smooth. In mouth, a nice citrusy catty hops with resinous character, alcohol warmth, doughy character, mentol, very nice.

Pale orange pour with a thick tight white head. The nose is awesome. Juicy citrus and lemon/grapefruit. A bright fruit citrus. Assertive hoppiness and a touch of pepper. Clean malt base with a load of expressive juicy citrusy hops. Delicious.

Tap at Volo
Aroma citric, herbal with nettle. Malty backing. Late note of lime and alcohol.
Appearance medium white top with gold hazed base. Touch of amber.
Flavor and Palate : vegetal onion like front. Musky with hop backing. Beyond strange onion notes you will be greeted with heat of alcohol and citric hops. Could my sample be off?

Draught at Volo. Pours a deep orange-amber with a small long-lasting frothy white head. Aroma is quite fruity, with lots of fruity hops, along with malt in the back and some alcohol. Flavour is also fruity and hoppy, a bit perfumy, and with some grain and alcohol. Moderate bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good.

[5341-20130505] Tap. Sweaty pine tree sap aroma. Murky, orange brown body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Bitter evergreen resin hops flavour has a long bitter finish. Medium-full body. Lovely bitter brew, very well-balanced. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

Bottle, thanks Colin! Huge citrus hops and grapefruit in pleasing aroma . Medium orange, fluffy white head . Lovely huge citrus taste . Alcohol present and punches you in the face . Huge hop bitterness . But if a house nickel taste , not a bad thing . Long hop burn linger . Is there a better double ipa made in Ontario? Not sure . This more than holds its own with the classics . Really nice job folks .

Really lacks character. A little too modest would be my assessment. Pours clear orange without head or lacing. Smells lightly hoppy with some malt. Alcohol hidden very well, but this tastes more like a pale ale than an UPS, let alone double. Finishes a little sour. Very light palate for style. On cask at volos.

Part of a 750 ml bottle, served cool in a tulip glass.
App.: Hazy amber with a nice, light tan froth.
Aroma: Intense, juicy citrus mixed with odd cat pee, a big hit of pine/resin/dank, sweet, crunchy malts fighting for attention, quite sweet-smelling once you get past the hops, caramel/toffee, starting to think I don’t love Simcoe...
Palate: Medium+ body, fairly relaxed effervescence.
Flav.: Quite juicy and fruity, still a fair bit of pine/resin/dank, more malt presence than the nose, big, sweet, crunchy caramel/toffee, a little savoury and dusty, still some cat pee, fairly intense citrus; sweet with good bitterness and a long, slightly boozy, dusty malt and pine/citrus finish.
Certainly immodest, not impeccable though. I had very high hopes and they weren’t quite met. Oh well.
