On tap at Brothers Beer Bistro (Ottawa, ON). Hazy golden body with a thin, white foamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with herbal and citrusy hints. Its well balanced taste carries coriander, grainy, and citrusy notes. Ends with a decent bitter/herbal finish. Enjoyable.

Tasting at Matt’s
Hazy golden color with generous head. Nice aroma of biscuity cereals and spices, flowers withered by the summer sun. Dry but smooth, highly carbonated; the spicy character from the yeast is storng; a bit of vegetables too unfortunately; but in the end it’s a solid beer, a bit funky.

750mL bottle, pours a clear / hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma brings out lots of farmhouse yeast, some pepper, and a lovely spiciness. Flavour is pretty solid, with Belgian yeast, pepper and spiciness, just as in the nose. Nice balanced of flavours - no residual sweetness. Nicely done saison, especially for a North American attempt.

For me, this is what a saison should be. Tasty, refreshing, interesting and subtle. Nothing hits you in the face, everything just shows up delicately and says: "Hey, relax, we’re good!". I love it!

Thin white frothy head atop a cloudy Amber body. Nose of chalk and watercress. Tasty dry, yeasty and spice hop. Very nice.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear golden straw with a thick, resilient white head. Aroma is lemon, pepper, fresh cereal. Flavor is fruits (apple, peach, pear), bubble gum and cereals. Finish is lemon, pepper, some mint. Lingering subtle fruit aromas. Light to medium body, average carbonation. Refreshing as heck.

750 mL Bottle. Light orange, slightly hazy, white head that sticks around. Citrus and flowery aroma. Taste has citrus, cloves, a bit of spice. Quite nice.

Aug. 16, 2014. Bottle from LCBO. Golden yellow, slightly cloudy. BIg white head that lingered. Aromas of hops, straw and lemon. Seems too hoppy for a saison; hops are very prominent. Nice lacing. Had this on tap before and it was much better. Quite disappointing in the bottle.

Papillon (382) - Sudbury, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 15, 2014
750 mL Bottle. Murky straw-yellow body with a tenacious frothy head leaving ribs on the glass. Aroma of pears and other pale fruits, floral notes and hints of fresh-cut grass and pine. Pungent in a way that piques my curiosity. Flavor of wheat malt with a note of cantaloupe, an astringent lemon rind aftertaste, and then a mild sweet cream cheese twinned with hops finish. A very specialized kind of mouth-puckering taste. Have an open mind ;)

Hazy yellow with a lasting, lacy, generous white head. Spicy and quite hoppy, with bright mango hop character adding to appealing yeast character.
