We bring you a taste of Belgium with Le Paysan Saison. this style originated from the farms of Belgium where it served to refresh workers as they toiled in the fields over the hot summer months. We fermented our Saison warm which gives rise to many distinct fruity aromas. The initial malt flavour gives way to a crisp, dry finish with a lingering spiciness. The result is a remarkably smooth, refreshing beer that anyone can enjoy in the hot summer months!

This saison poured a clear, dark yellow colour with a minimal, soapy white head. Scents include yellow mustard, spice, very faint vinegar and light malts. First swig was almost peppery with other flavours of yeast and cinnamon. Finish was lightly bitter with light cinnemon and spice lingering.

50 cl can. Pours a cloudy orange with a nice lasting white head. Aroma of cereal and fresh cut grass. Taste is bitter and a little sour. The palate is creamy. My new go to ontario beer!

Can from LCBO, Just good solid "real" beer. Slightly bitter/sour but very refreshing. These belgian style farmhouse ales are amongst my favourites to s of flavour but fresh and clean

Very nice aroma and rich fruit flavors with a resemblance to a wheat beer, but certainly not wheaty. Wonderful head and tastes good from cold to warm. A new favorite. Not a light "summer beer", and that is good. Can from LCBO.

473ml can. Pours a hazy pale golden hue with a very light tan coloured head. On the nose, Belgian hits of wet concrete, with floral apple, and an almost strawberry-like nose. It smells pretty great. Taste wise, light tropical fruit, mineral notes, a faint sour undertone, and light bubblegum that heads into metallic, doughy bitterness with citrus, and faint fruity esters. I havenít ventured too far into the world of Ontario saisons, because what I have had taste NOTHING like the style, or are just poorly made. This however is the best I have tried thus far. Well done.

Whoa, is that Megadeth on the Last Action Hero soundtrack? Like, cool, man! So thisís got some serio-so head that goes away a little too fast, okay lager body with heavy carbonation. Aroma has little of "saison" on the menu but rather is more like a gold lager or just a decent pale lager, sadly and unfortunately. AC/DC man, Big Gun! Whaaow where was I when all this was goiní down... gotta remember good times. Flavour has a few saison-y notes in very small amounts on top of a regular lager flavour. A good lager flavour methinks but not transcending, per se, into a saison. Say, why didnít they show more of that chick in the film? She was kinda hot, though a little too 80ís for me. I liked the 80ís donít get me wrong but I think I liked a little more edge to the 90ís chicks... leg warmers are perhaps a turnoff at this stage of my life sadly. Nonetheless this is a mixed bag, not giving enough of the rough-along-the-edges cow-shagging goat stink that a true saison needs. A little too refined, too new-world, they gotta loosen up and let it get messy like the old French farmers of old. Or Belgian. Liked the old Arnold movie tho, no idea why they panned it so much in í93. A good popcorn flick and always great when youíre drunk on good beer.

Rating #1438 - 16.01.2015 - Bottle from CBI - Pours a golden yellow with a carbonated white foam that goes on for days Aroma is mild funk, mild floral lavender, citrus. Palate is actually quite sweet, lots of floral lavender notes, as well as a sticky sweetness. Mild sour note from the yeast. Not enough gumption in the funk for a real rippiní saison, but this is certainly light, sweet, and crushable.

Tap at Bar Hopís new place on St Peter, Toronto. Paleish amber yellow with an off-white head. Really nice, sweet, candy-like, citric, refreshing aroma and flavour... The kind of beer that makes you forget taking notes. The finishing bitterness complements the initial sweetness. Refreshing crisp carbonation and medium body, slightly drying finish which makes me always crave for another sip. Excellent!
