This saison poured a clear, dark yellow colour with a minimal, soapy white head. Scents include yellow mustard, spice, very faint vinegar and light malts. First swig was almost peppery with other flavours of yeast and cinnamon. Finish was lightly bitter with light cinnemon and spice lingering.

Fruity aroma. Hazy gold colour. Flavour of dried fruit, hops, yeast, and caramel. Medium body with mild carbonation. Quite tasty.

Bottle from the LCBO. Cloudy honey colour with a large fluffy white head. Nose is yeast, wheat and spice with some lemon and honey. Lightly sweet fruity star followed by tart citrus and a dry spicy finish. There is also a faint metallic tinge that is a bit distracting. Light mouth with active carbonation.

Pours a cloudy honey colour, with a large bubbly head. Aroma includes notes of citrus, pepper, and yeast. Tasting notes include sour tangy citrus, pepper, coriander. The palate is light and the citrus notes almost leaves your mouth puckered. Not bad, but a little overpowering on the citrus notes. Not bad though.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2014 Flaska dovezena z Kanady priamo z Nickel Brook. The color is very nice orange or mandarin. In addition to the smell of yeast can feel from cube of mandarin or peel. Taste starts from slightly tart and dry over sparkling white flowery wine. Aftertaste is dry and bitter. Overall, this beer is very interesting and warm the soul.

Bottled bought at the Nickelbrook brewery in Burlington/Canada. Overall a very tasty but damn dry beer. Aroma of mandarines, Belgian yeast typical of a Duvell plus some white wine. Color is hazy orange yellow, head is white, vanishes but keeps a layer. Taste is fruity, bitter and damn dry and finishes with a dry bitterness of a grapefruit. For me a very tasty beer.

750 mL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small, foamy, persistent head. The aroma is appealing, but more like a Belgian blonde or a wit. It’s missing the typical barnyard funk. Lots of sweet orchard fruit and yeast. The flavour is a little more typical, although there is something weird at the end. Just before the end, really, because there is a nice bitterness right at the end. Asparagus. I don’t know. Dry enough. Not terrible, but an odd saison.

Maybe I got a bad bottle, because looking down this page I see a few regulars I respect and they seem okay with this beer. Yes, yes Freaky_tiki you’re on this list. But here it is. Pours a golden cloud, with three fingers of fluffy head that would not settle. Smells of resin hops, pepper and bubble gum. Weird. Taste? Lots of sour-off flavours, bitterness, as well as pepper, tough to suss out malts. I have to give this my lowest score I’ve ever given a craft beer. Nickel Brook folks, send me another for free and I’ll re-evaluate, but I can’t buy this again on my own, that’s right, nickel.

When I first tried to buy this at the LCBO they wouldn’t let me cuz they didn’t know how much to charge for it. When I asked a worker why I wasn’t allowed to buy something that is on their shelf he said "it’s not that you’re not allowed to, it’s just that you can’t." I am sorry, WTF? Anyway, another store didn’t mind selling their products, and I gots me a bottle. Pours beautiful gold with a bubbly cap that collapses quicker than Ontario manufacturing sector. Crisp bursts of lemon zest, orange marmalade & subtle spicing make it a really good local farmhouse saison.

750 mL bottle. Pours lightly hazed burnt gold with a thick foamy head. Aromas of peach, nectarine and woody hop mingle with spicy yeast and grainy malt notes. Quite dry, with only a touch of bready sweetness and a well bittered finish. Creamy palate with carbonation a little shy of heavy. Very nice.
