We brewed our Nickel Brook Maple Porter to be first and foremost, a robust and full bodied porter, using premium roasted and pale malts. We then infuse pure, dark Canadian maple syrup into the brewing process, so the maple essence becomes integrated during fermentation. The result is a truly wonderful and complex mixture of roast you desire in a robust porter, with background hints of maple flavour and aroma. No additive or preservatives. Naturally carbonated for a smooth, creamy finish.Nickel Brook Maple Porter is a unique Canadian interpretation of a timeless classic!

750 ml bottle from the LCBO.

Appearance: Pours black with almost a finger of tan head. Short retention with little lacing.

Aroma: Toasted malt, grain, cereal, bit of liqueur.

Flavours: Dark toasted malt, black coffee, cola, hint of dark chocolate.

Mouthfeel: Average viscosity with lighter carbonation.

Overall: A nice Porter with tons of malt. I didnít get any maple, but this was still a really nice Porter.

Brune foncé. Pas de collet. Café. Érable. Épicé. Boisé. Girofle. Mince. Caramel. Pas trop sucré. Correcte.

750ml bottle. Clear brown body, cola like head, no retention at all. Effervescent. Aroma of roasted malts, cough syrup, a touch of coffee, vanilla. Taste of well-done toast, coffee, mineral water, just a hint of maple. Disappointing.

Nickelbrook has redeemed itself from the terror that was the bolshevik bastard porter. Nice and smooth with a nice pour n great nose. Smooth to drink n doesnt linger too long on the palate. Good for a session porter

Pours a deep caramel/black with a one finger, khaki head. Aroma has sweeter notes of caramel, dark chocolate, and a touch of maple syrup. Taste is balanced. Caramel, dark chocolate, roasted malts, and a touch of smoky maple. Medium-full body with a medium carbonation. clean in the mouth with a slightly dry finish. Overall pretty tasty. Just a hint of maple mixed with a nice porter.

Draft - Sweet sugars and roast, not quite maple. Jet black with a rich brown head. Dark roast, syrupy sweetness with a long syrupy finish. Pretty average.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2015 Pours muddy dark brown with a nice mocha head, at least at first. The retention is weak and it bubbles away in less than a minute Aromas are of chocolate, coffee, burnt malts, and occasionally I actually catch a whiff of a Coffee Crisp chocolate bar. Maybe the slightest hint of maple. Maybe. Mouthfeel is medium, leaning toward creamy, but with some surprising crispness as well which was a little unexpected. Taste wise this one delivers the anticipated chocolatey malts, and hints of coffee, but where is the maple? Overall this is a drinkable Porter, but compared to other maple beers Iíve had, especially some from Quebec and the Flying Monkeys, this one is a maple let down and that will hurt itís score.

Great chocolat coffee and roasted flavours. Nice light brown foam which remains for quite some time.

750ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a deep reddish black with a big pillowy khaki head that fades slowly leaving nice lace. Nose is toffee, coffee and chocolate with notes of vanilla and maple. Nice sweet start with some nuts and coffee with vanilla and a definite maple note balancing a slight bitterness.. Creamy slightly thin mouth with a lingering smoky finish.
