On tap at Gig’s: Medium gold color, lightly hazed, nice puffy white cap laces the glass.. Great nose to this - big frutiness over fresh cereals, light grassiness. Medium-light body, slick mouth feel. Flavor follows aroma with succulent fruity esters and citrus over bready malts in front, moderate bittering, finish is clean lightly bitter. A great summer pale with some PacNW character and great quenching drinkability. You got a winner here John.

Purchased at LCBO for just under $13 for 6 pack. Before I purchased it seeing it was only 4.9% I was bit worried it might not have enough taste to this one even tho the label said it has a lot taste for a small beer. When looking in a glass it was quite pale. Once i tasted it however, it lived up to what it said. Lots of hop taste but at the same time one of the best session beers. Great job on this one Nickel Brook!

Really outstanding APA. Pours a hazy yellow. Lots of fruity hop flavour and aroma. I’ve had this both in bottles and on tap and both versions are outstanding. Perfect beer for when you want something with a lower ABV than an IPA.

341 mL bottle. Quite pale - yellow-gold. Just a little head. Resiny hops in the nose. Smells great. The flavour is more restrained, ith the hops bringing more of a floral note than resin. Malt brings only some sweetness. Works well as an APA though. Quite drinkable.

355mL bottle from brewery. Pours hazy/golden with a white head. The aroma of citrus hops are to die for, and the taste is even better. At 4.9%, this is a great, refreshing, everyday APA!

6-pack from the LCBO. Pours a slight hazy, golden colour with a frothy warm cap that has great retention and some foamy lace. Lots of sediments floating all around. Fresh hop nose with the pine and citrus notes. Not really bitter though. Wet mouthfeel with just a little dryness in the finish. Some fruitiness of oranges, sweetness of caramel and light grass to balance off things. Quite a good, easy-drinking APA, that is not too bitter, but just right.

Very hazy orange pour. Lots of sediment. Haven’t seen sediment like that since our trip to Montreal. Foamy white head. Very strong Pale Ale hops grapefruit scent. Yep it’s a pale ale alright. I’m very surprised as I haven’t haven’t had much Nickelbrook that I’ve actually found to be any good. This must be the exception that proves the rule. Now anyone who has been following my rates knows, I am not a pale ale fan. I don’t like that tart hoppy grapefruit like bite. This is no exception but it fades very quick with pretty much no aftertaste. So yeah Nickelbrook makes a rather good beer. Who knew.

341 ml bottle @ Hintonburg Public House Ottawa. Pours a clear gold with a large off-white head. Aroma is pine and citrus hops with pine somewhat more dominant. Taste is piny resin and hoppy bitterness but not overpowering. Well balanced, effervescent with a medium bitter, astringent finish. Very nice APA. Note bottle was unfiltered.

From bottle - pours lighter gold with decent white head. Aroma is very fresh and strong with citrus hops. Taste is very smooth and brings out the citrus notes well. A light bitterness lingers. Incredible and probably the best beer that Nickel Brook has ever put out.

Smells super citrus hppy. Pours golden clear. Has a nice tang, some bitterness at end. Carbonation a little above average. Medium palate - straight forward, good session ale. Tap at volos.
