Great C-hop aroma, loads of citrus, but there is still a solid bready maltiness. Good carb, solod mouthfeel. Great citrusy finish. Just an all around great session pale ale, not too hoppy, but you get loads of great hop flavor, could drink it all night!

Very hazy orange pour. Lots of sediment. Haven’t seen sediment like that since our trip to Montreal. Foamy white head. Very strong Pale Ale hops grapefruit scent. Yep it’s a pale ale alright. I’m very surprised as I haven’t haven’t had much Nickelbrook that I’ve actually found to be any good. This must be the exception that proves the rule. Now anyone who has been following my rates knows, I am not a pale ale fan. I don’t like that tart hoppy grapefruit like bite. This is no exception but it fades very quick with pretty much no aftertaste. So yeah Nickelbrook makes a rather good beer. Who knew.

341 ml bottle @ Hintonburg Public House Ottawa. Pours a clear gold with a large off-white head. Aroma is pine and citrus hops with pine somewhat more dominant. Taste is piny resin and hoppy bitterness but not overpowering. Well balanced, effervescent with a medium bitter, astringent finish. Very nice APA. Note bottle was unfiltered.

From bottle - pours lighter gold with decent white head. Aroma is very fresh and strong with citrus hops. Taste is very smooth and brings out the citrus notes well. A light bitterness lingers. Incredible and probably the best beer that Nickel Brook has ever put out.

Pours a clear sparkling dark yellow with a whole lots of foamy white head and some visible carbonation. Smell is definite hops, lots of citrus, and a bit of a fruitier variety mixed with a bit of sweet toffee maltiness. Palate is medium bodied with a bit under average carbonation. Taste is slightly sweet at first then really quite bitter, and it stays bitter for quite a while. A competent APA.

Draught at C’est What, Toronto Hazy golden color, with creamy head. It has a good and lean toffee profile, with very nice hopping, full of citrusy resins, mainly oranges and some tangerines. The aroma is more delicate, the flavor is more powerful. Elegant and smooth.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2013 Naughtiest on Cask, at The Only. Pale stone fruit and lemon aromas. Peachy color and half cloudy look, small of white head. Ale fruit and hops create dimensional peachy-bitter flavor with sweet lemon and long moderate bitterness. - re rate - liking the flavor and overall a point more for the peachiness.
