3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from matt7215. Ok, nearly at the end of your beers, but my gratitude only increases. Pours a very reddish, hazy amber with a large frothy beige head. Aroma of reddish fruit. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Flavor is cherry, mild funk, and something like cherry pit. Then it goes all oaky astringent. Oh. Bottle says oak aged. Finish is funky, oaky cherry, but not so strong my mouth canít stand it. Bottom line: Do whatever you need to do to get this. Itís not a Belgian kriek, but itís damn tasty. Arguably the issue is that the particular cherries are a bit sweeter than the sour Belgian.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A murky reddish brown ale with cherry hue, and a thick moka head, collapsing rapidly. Aroma of sour lactic cherries, not unpleasant, similar to Liefmans Kriek, with light Epsom salts. In mouth, a sourish kriek with light cherries, butterscotch, lactic aids and cream. Not bad. Bottle from JesseM, June 2009, so about 9 months old. Thanks Jesse!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from the brewery. Coconut aroma, as I find in injected fruit drinks, sugary drink mixes. Reddish colour, with a little foaming head. Taste is a sour cherry, integrated with wood. Interesting.Above average mouthfeel, drinkable stuff. Unique.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2008-10-03. Hazy orange amber body with a modest off-white head. (3+) Musty aroma, modest cherries, light sour tang, generic fruit notes. (6+) Flavour is moderately sour, fruity, some cherry that grows in the finish. Light bitterness and modest wood character throughout. (6+) Average plus palate is smooth. (3+) Okay, kind of interesting. Much more sour than I recall the Uniek being, but still more like a Flanders than say a bretty lambic. On tap at C’est What

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught at Cíest What. Pours a hazy bubbly amber with a spare lasting creamy head. Aroma: Well that’s oak-aged alright! Sweet with vanilla and oak. Flavour’s lightly sour along with oak and vanilla -- a bit watery. Average bodied. I found this just O.K.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Scrizz. Nose is of sour cherries, oak, and some of that powdered soap thatís in the rest stop bathroom... But not in a bad way... Weird. Dark red pour, lots of floaties. Tart cherries, oak, and some light soap. Sour is soft. Wood creates a dryness in ther finish. Decent stuff imo. Sharp carbonation.

[1758-20081003] Tap. Smoky cherry malt aroma with a mild crayon paper hint. Slightly hazy, red orange body with a long-lasting creamy white head. More mild crayon paper in the flavour with some cherry oak wood and mild ravioli. Medium body is smooth. Interesting.
