3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Tessic (746) - Brantford, Ontario, - DEC 19, 2012This Pale ale poured a clear, medium yellow colour with a quick living, frothy, white head. To the nose there are scents of grass hops, spruce trees and a light vanilla. First sip was nice and flavourful, but not as bitter/hoppy as you might take from the aroma. Flavours of honey, cereal and toast most prodominant. Finish is hoppy but only medium bitter with citrus/grass flavours lingering.

[on cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest, 2012]
Aroma is a nice balance of apricot and citrus hops against a sweet caramel backbone. Almost clear, tawny copper under a bubbly, white ring. Lemony citrus flavour with a prominent bitterness and faint peppery, but not phenolic, finish that contains some hops character. Delicate, if a bit boring. Moderate to medium bitterness in the finish, light to medium body moderate to low carbonation.

[4966-20121120] Tap. Light grainy fruit aroma. Hazy, orange brown body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Citrus lemon orange juice flavour has a bitter bite initially that quickly fades to fruit. Medium body. Quite delicious, there’s a funny sour-like tang somewhere. (7/3/7+/3/16) 3.6

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 blankboy (5151) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 17, 2012
Draught at Rhino. Nov. 20. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with a small diminishing white head. Aroma is lovely, lots of fruit and spice, lime and pumpkin, a good amount of hops and finally, yeast. Flavour of yeast, fruit, light spice, very light hops and a good amount of herbs. Average to medium bodied. Very good.

2012-11-20. Hazy golden orange body with a small white head. 3+ Flavour is interesting, almost a lightly funky orange peel character up front, modest bitterness throughout, sweetish mild malt in the middle, dry bitter finish, sort of spicy in the background. 7++ Aroma is similar, lightly funky orange, something I want to call cat food but isn’t (Is that from the beer or a food smell from somewhere else?) 7+ Average plus bodied palate. 3+ Super interesting, I like it but it is kind of odd. On tap at Rhino, Toronto

bottle from the brewery store: another wet hop ale from this brewer. This time with a PacNW APA as a base. Freshly harvested green hop cones were sourced locally. Pours a hazy deep gold with a sticky 2 finger white cap. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is very nice, signature Pac NW citus/floral notes but brighter/fresher over a sturdy cereal tone. Flavor follows aroma with the bright citrus-piney hops slightly fronting the bready malting - finish is clean and increasingly bitter-dry with a nice juicy hop bite at the end. A very decent sipping pale for pasta dishes and as a stand alone sessioner. Kudos to the brewer on making a very tasty approachable wet hop ale.
