3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 kevinsenn (552) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - APR 7, 2013
Bottle from brewery. Pours mostly clear and brown, with thin large-bubbled lacing. Aroma of pumpkin pie, raisins, and figs. Taste is full of pumpkin pie spices, some sweet malt and slight dried fruit notes, and vanilla. Dry finish, with a creeping alcohol warmth. Flat and medium-bodied. This was decent.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Strangebrewer (632) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - APR 1, 2013
bottle. Poured clear deep copper with a thin beige head. Very spicy aroma, ginger and vanilla. Medium thick mouthfeel, a bit oily. Flavour is tart cherry, peppery notes, and nutmeg. There’s a whole lot going on here.

On tap. Dark amber pour, tight foamy tan head. Aroma is a little band aide, boozy, dark fruit, maple syrup and hints of raisins, clove and orange. Oily medium mouthfeel. Sugary up front with an acidic bitter medium finish. Not great balance, but otherwise enjoyable.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 gilvanblight (678) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 19, 2013
Darker than expected pour, very hazy, can’t see through it. The thick parts are brown with the thing parts (of the glass) showing a nice amber. Def. looks good. Smells like a mixed drink more than a beer. Toffee and candy. Kind of tastes like a mixed drink. Like a weak spiced rum. It’s spicy the kind of spice that lingers on the tongue a cinnamon kind of hot. It’s sweet as well. Boozy, now that I actually like in a beer or mixed drink. That tongue burn lingers. Okay this isn’t bad, it’s very different. It’s probably the best thing I’ve had from Nickel Brook. Just doesn’t have enough beer characteristics for me.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 blankboy (5152) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 18, 2013
Draught at Bar Hop. Pours a murky dark copper with a small semi-lasting creamy tan head. Aroma of caramel malt, fruit, toffee, vanilla, sugar and light spices. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, maple syrup, spices, sugar, nuts, some alcohol and light hops. Syrupy mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Much too sweet for my personal tastes but its well done.

Draught at Bar Hop. Deep clear ruby-amber with an average creamy beige head. Aroma of spice and diacetyl. Taste is pleasant - gingerbread, nutmeg and alcohol. Solid chewy body, spice-astringent, solid carbonation, a dry spicy finish and linger. Smells odd, solid otherwise.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 GuillaumeCL (309) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 1, 2013
Bottle from the beer mail. Pours a clear deep red with pretty much no head. Smell is slightly sweet, with a bit of spice, cinnamon, ginger, and maybe a tiny bit of grassy hops. Palate is medium bodied with good carbonation. Taste is a bit spicy at first before having a bit of sweetness, which gives way to the ever building spiciness and bitterness. Spiciness lingers for a bit in the aftertaste. Pretty decent, but there’s definitely better winter warmers.
