Bottled. An amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw and malt, leading to a dry and bitter finish. The body is light.

Clear amber with a medium off white head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and rye bread. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, caramel, rye bread and grassy hops. Finished dry and bitter. Nicely hopped for an alt.

[500ml bottle from Beers of Europe] My first Alt. Poured chestnut-amber with a moderate off-white head. Grassy lager hops, strong fizz, metals and a thin watery mouthfeel fail to work in a UK-like toffee malt base. I’m not impressed.

Bottle purchased at Helmut’s place in Berlin. Pours a light amber color with a trim white head. Smells and tastes of nasty grain, mildly sweet hops, and grass. Meh.
