The nose is fruity and malty. Taste is quite simple, malt and fruit play there part again with the occasional streak of citrus and bitterness comes through. This is an enjoyable beer and the first Altbier I’ve rated. A6 A5 F7 P3 OV13

Quite dull and cheap in the taste with a bit of coffee in the aroma. Bitter finish and water in the mouth from start to end. Below average.

As I like quite some Altbiers ( Schlüssel and Schumacher e.g.), this one is def one of the worst I ever drank. Not only that it looks cheap, no it is AND it tastes cheap as well....Very light ruby-brown colour with low ehad and thin body. Nose of malt and nuts. Taste of roast, light smoke, copper, metall, sour nuts and sour mash. Just awful to drink, no way to enjoy it.

Bottled 18/01/13. A mahogany coloured beer with an off-white ring of head. A nice nutty sweetish lager. Bready, cakey and caramelly notes. a nice slant towards fruitcake. Very palateable and enjoyable.

Bottle. Grainy, toasted, light caramelly malt, cardboard and shy hops in the aroma. Dry, watery body, light bitterness, rather low on flavour. Unpleasant aftertaste of cardboard and old, dry grain.

Sredni Alt. Lepsze miałem okazję degustować. Ale pochwalić można wysoką pianę. Kolor jak na alt prawidłowy czyli mocno bursztynowy. Smak jak dla mnie i dla tego stylu zbyt mało wyrazisty

A clear amber brown beer. Smell is on cereals and caramel. Aroma is lightly roasted with notes of brown bread, good sweet caramel aroma with spicy hop.

Schaumkrone hält mittelmäßig. Schön Herb-hopfig, meins hatte einen nicht so leckeren Beigeschmack aber sonst recht gut. Geschmacklich aber nur mittelmäßiges Alt.

500ml bottle, best before 23 Feb 2012, poured three times into one of my Hannen Alt glasses during Oct 2011.
I like to think I know this style well, but I’m no expert, that’s for sure. This Alt looks the part, bright, clear and the typical clean chestnut brown/red most seem to be. This bottle had a full, deep head for me on each pour, so plenty of condition/carbonisation.
The aromas lifting out of the straight sided Alt tumbler were of rich caramalised malty molasses with a non-sweet toffee undertone. Certainly not a sickly malt smell, but sweet without a doubt.
The taste was a full on malt flavour, with a barely hidden bitterness along side: tangy, sharp and crisp in the mouth. Easy to drink, too easy, my bottle just seemed to evaporate before my eyes, surely I didn’t drink it that fast?
The third glass was taken with some German cold cut meats, great accompliment to a lovely beer. I really love this style of beer (as well as Germany in general) and must return to Dusseldorf before too long.

bottled. Amber color with small white head. Aroma is roasted malt. Flavor is yeast and malty with some bitterness. mouthfeel is quite dry and roasted malt.

Kupferne Farbe, typisch für ein Alt. Geruch malzig, röstig und etwas vergoren. Der Geschmack gibt sich röstig und brotartig, was weniger schön ist. Dennoch ein trinkbares Alt. Gibt aber Bessere.Test vom 14.10.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche
