Erg donkerbruin met snel verdwijnend schuim; geur van kers en peer die fruitiger is dan de smaak - die geeft koffie, donkere chocolade en gebrande mout en valt een stuk zwaarder; in de nasmaak breekt de stout helemaal door. Erg lekker bij zoet fruit.

Dark brown beer. Head is ok, should just hold a bit longer. Chocolate, malts and spices. Pretty decent, and a good mouthfeel. Alcohol is present a bit to much. Decent dry eathyness.

Light hazy redish black with a medium, firm, frothy, beige head. Aroma has light roasted malts, hazelnuts, plums, light vinious, a touch of liqourice. Highish carbonation, light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has good heavy sugary sweetness at first, then lots of roasted malts, chocolate, light liqourice. Lingering vinious and malty bitter finish. Very well-balanced beer. But not a tripel.

Alpaïde 33cl bottle from www.belgianbeerstation.com.
This ale has got a very beautiful and warm red brown color. The liquid is very clear and has a nice carbonation. The head is thick, beige, bubbly and stable.
The aroma is sweet with roasted malts as the first thing that comes up. Chocolate touch.
The mouthfeel is quite syrupy. First taste is sweetness but it is quickly overtaken by roasted malts and bitterness. Liquorice ! The finish is very long, excellent. Alcohol is clearly presentl.
This is a complex and wonderful beer with a very warming character. Brewery Nieuwhuys from Hoegaarden is maybe small but this beer is top class !

Deep mahoney to black body. Creamy, lightly brown head. Aroma of caramalts and strong coffee/chocolate malts. Well balanced and complex aroma. Moderately bitter, moderately sweet flavour. Well balanced, nice complexity in the flavour as well. Nice and warming.

Présente une belle couleur cuivrée allant sur une note bordeaux, col épais beige.
Bouquet fruité allant vers la prune, figue, date, sucre candi le tout ayant ce nez de fruits fermentés.
Une bière agréable dans le style d’abbaye. Mélange un très bon profile malté, grillé donnant aussi des notes de café et torréfier avec des notes de fruits, prune et figue. Une très belle surprise.
