Tap at Delirium Tap House. Dark brown with a beige/tan head. Light floral aroma over roasted malt. Dark roasted malt. A little floral hop. Just a tad sour. A little coffee and some heat develop with time. Its a very good beer, just not what I am looking for at the moment. Could pass for a stout I suppose.

Deze donkerbruine gerstewijn (?). D aanwezigheid van de e verbrande mout maakt de caramelachtige geur sterke. de smaak is zoetbitter met een lichte alcohol waarneming. Een lange uitgevloeide iets bitterige nasmaak

Bottle, 33 cl. (From Alvinne’s Beershop) Tasted yesterday @ home. Very darkbrown, almost black color, with a beige creamy head. Aroma malts, dark fruits. Medium to full body. Taste = complex well balanced: sweet, chocolate, strong roasted malts, caramel, bit coffee, sourness and hop bitter finish. Good beer, but let me say not my favourite.

Dark brown beer with small off white head. Malty aroma, reminding me of scotch and grain. Full palate, rather long finish bitter (coffee beans) ending is also rather alcoholic, Amaretto? I like this one.

Draught. Ambery brown colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel, alcohol and some fruits. Flavour is alcohol fruits and some yeast. The alcohol comes through too clearly in this one, so I have a hard time appreciating it that much...

(Draught@OPP, Helsinki) Very dark brown with a medium, creamy and lacy head. Roasty-malty, licoricey aroma with some sourish hints. Roasty and quite burned-malty, lightly alcoholic flavor with medium bitterness. Medium-bodied, a bit diesel-alcoholic palate with smooth carbonation and some sahti-like roughness. Too burned, homebrewish and alcoholic, at least when cool.

Dark brown, hazy, thin head. Beautiful chocolatey aroma. Massively serious malty taste - full grain husks, nutty too. Not to be taken lightly, but makes the 9% seem like a fiction. Finish is very long and nutty, but with a decent burnt malt component too. Very worthy barley wine.
Rerate: after HBF2009. bumped aroma and palate.
It’s 9%, jet we knocked back 1l of this after a beer festival. It’s just so delicious. Lovely chocolatey aroma.

Huge light yellow-beige head, slightly irregular, over very dark brown beer with ruby flashes. Rich bready nose with lots of chestnut/nutty flavours, rich dark malts, sweetish and roasted both. Liquorice. Very dry roasted to burnt taste, clearly Maillard. BIt of human sweat. Greenery finish, dark malt-dominated, sweet. Super-thick texture, creamy, oily, velvety feel; alcohol-laden, some discreet fusels. Very classical dark beer, very much in the Walloon tradition, rather than Flemish.
