Bottle at home with friend. Pour is hazy amber with a big white head and great lacing. Fruity, biscuit, grass, straw, lemons, melon rind, honey, and flower petals in the aroma. Taste is fresh melons, straw, lemons, biscuit, grass, husks, herbs, and pepper. Light body with high carboantion. Decent fruited saison.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Batch 5, bottled 8/9/13, drunk 2/23/14
Beautiful Belgian, bottle conditioned pour shows a mountain of well-retained white head topping a clear, bright and darker than expected amber body with plentiful carbonation. Definitely looks every bit as good as a Dupont beer....
Very clean, yeast and hop-driven nose shows much more light, peppery phenol notes than it does esters, with spicy/floral hops drying it out even further and some light maltiness balancing. High strength of aroma, no doubt aided by the ample carbonation.
Malt immediately comforts the palate. Very well-extracted and attenuated giving a soft texture for the ample hoppiness to play on. Honeydew is noticeable, but completely fermented and I doubt you would be able to pick it out, if you were unaware. Adds just a slight touch of melon-like sweetness. Yeast phenols and more hop acidity dry the finish with a touch of band-aids and light plastic a la Dupont. Very authentic Belgian saison here and from reading the reviews, it looks like the 6 months of age on it were very beneficial. With this amount of hoppiness at 6 months, I can definitely understand how it would have been too much young. It seems the yeast has been hard at work too, as this is now very much dry with no syrupiness from either malt or melon sugar. Very, very nice. Hopefully everyone else that had this young can have it again with a bit of age on it.

Nice yeasty flavor with real subtle hints of honey dew. Cloudy ruby golden color with light carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
Pears and herbs share the spotlight in this fruity and very effervescent quencher.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the hazy blond.
-An acidic touch helps the finish.
-Cereals show up clearly in the end as well.
-Why does such a refreshing flavor profile need 7.5% abv? I’d love to have 4-5% version...
-Green tea allusions seem to be a creation of the hop profile.

Un autre superbe liquide comme d’habitude avec Night Shift. Hyper aromatique, verdure mouillée de chlorophylle, finale de thé sec. Jamais durant la dégustation j’ai perçu le melon miel.

I really like this beer. Nice melon, apple, banana, and floral nose. Taste is heavy juicy honeydew with some light citrus. Quite hoppy and lightly bitter on the finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Bruce’s new pad, big thanks to Leighton, 15/10/13.
Hazed golden amber with thin off white pond affair atop the glass.
Nose is a little soapy, bitter orange, apricot, touch of honey, sugars.
Taste comprises light honeycomb, grass, bitter fruits, yeasty tones, tangy apricot.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, grassy finale.
Decent saison, a little drop in quality on the previous couple, the soap on the nose didn’t interfere with the flavour for me.

Tasting at Bruce’s new pad. Thanks to Leighton for this rarity. Hazy amber beer with a tidy pale cream coloured head. Light airy palate. Thin and dry creamy malt. Light brett bitterness. Whisper of something fruity. Finishes semi dry with a mild brett bitterness. Okay if a bit lightweight.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle during football at my dad’s. Pours a hazed amber with a large white head. Bright musky citrus, dusty hops, lemon. Medium bodied, soft musk with a touch of melon sweetness. Soft musk with some chewy yeast and some faint honeydew bits coming through after. Pretty nice.

Bottle, big thanks to Leighton for my first Night Shift! It pours hazy amber with a thick, fluffy yellow-white head. The nose is woody, orange, Irn Bru, peach, mustinesst, spice, earth, vanilla and melon. The taste is earth, wood, green apple, melon, brett, spice, citrus, dough and dirt with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Interesting and rather tasty. Works well.
