COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison brewed with rosemary, rose hips, honey and aged on pink peppercorns (~8.0%)

Like its namesake flower, our Rose is both delicate and thorny. Floral honey, rosehips, and rosemary mingle with fruity pink peppercorns to create a refreshing earthiness. Bold rye malts and a spirited yeast strain enhance the beer’s prickly spice. Hazy and golden, Rose sips with a rich, savory charm.

Bottle. Pours reddish orange off white head. Nose/taste of rose hips, rosemary, Italian spices, tomato, lemongrass, light berry juice, light earthiness, florals, honey and pink peppercorn. Lighter medium body.

Pours out hazy orange/brown with a huge tan head that sticks around a long time. Immediate veggie/spicy notes to the aroma, the rosemary is especially evident. Flavor adds in some funk alongside estery yeast flavors, but the aftertaste is sort of an unpleasant over-spiced sensation. Fairly thick body that finishes very dry. Somewhat tasty, but don’t think I would buy it again.

Bottle; Pour is cloudy golden with a pillow top head into this glass. It retains well, with chunky lace present - The nose is herbal - you can sense feint sweetness as well - florals round it out ,with a mineral note present. The flavor profile is hardly delicate, though I get what they’re saying ; there’s delicate components in this brew. Unfortunately the "prickly spice" as stated dominates - theres a harshness to the flavor profile that I truly wish was more rounded by softer drinkability for the style. Peppery spicing, florals, yet mild belgian notes as this is supposed to be a saison - lemon grass and the rosemary do come through here as well. It is a nice overall experience, though

Tap. Semisweet candied hibiscus. Dry earthy pronounced rose pedals essence. Unique beer. Bit of a lemonzest twang mixed with a peculiar Bit of a perfumey lip stick. Weird. Dry. Would prefer lower boost though booze is hidden. Not really my thing.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2014 Had on tap at the source. $2.50 for the 4 oz. serving. To undersized snifter, it pours a partly cloudy orangeade with which a thin, whitish-ringed head 1 finger in length stood. Tastes and smells of rose hips, Belgian yeast, rye malt, cornmeal, toasted breadcrumbs, spruce tips, and wheat grain. Floury, tea-like, and heftily floral. Worth the money paid, but not particularly interesting. Definitely had a waterier saison base. I didn’t really mind the herbaceous characteristics of this beer. I did however think it ranged more in the one-dimensional, though.

http://imgur.com/FkJAzAX - Bomber. Pours copper with pillowy white head that lasts with slight lacing. Smells of spicy yeast notes and pepper. Drinks smoothly with a slight pepper bite and mild lingering bitterness. Light to medium bodied. Tastes of citrus, pepper, and spice. Finishes clean. Very savory beer.

750 ml bottle. batch 12, bottled 11/20/13. From Super Kappy’s. Cloudy amber pour with fast dying head. Nose is insanely herbaceous. Rosemary, peppercorn, parsley and flowers. Flavor is just dominated by herbs. Rosemary is off the chain here. The flavor is just like the aroma. Damn… can you say herb garden? Dry texture with a mild yeasty flavor. Pretty intense brew.

Bottle shared from Chris. Looks like he grabbed it in November. Split 3 ways in a snifter.

A - Murky, cloudy blood red, 1 finger white head that’s persistent.

S - Nose is an explosion of floral characters and pepper hits the back of the thread. Honey and roses.

T - The lazy review here is that this is a freaking salad in a glass. The peppercorn spice, honey, celery, flowers, cabbage, more honey and hibiscus.

M - Burst of carbonation, dry and sweet

O - This is an interesting beers. It has all of the right yeast characters I love but the spice is a huge detractor. Still was nice to have.
