COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Berliner Weisse style sour ale brewed with lemongrass and ginger
Its name honoring our Somerville homebrewing roots, Somer Weisse began as our answer to a hot July without air conditioning. A few twists on the classic Berliner Weisse style led us to this quencher of thirst. Refreshing and tart, it sprinkles the tongue with the zesty flavors of lemongrass, ginger, and, most importantly, summertime. ABV 4.9%-6.2%

Excellent Berliner Weisse. Fizzy carbonation on a yellow pour. Aroma is lemon, citrus, light crackers. Very effervescent and refreshing. Flavor is similar with a nicely balanced tartness. Great beer.

Bomber. Thanks to ModeEngage! Hazy orange-yellow with a foamy, white head that leaves quickly and lasts thinly in spots. Aromas of tangy and tart lemon, yeast and light musty notes. Flavor is tart lemon, orange, vinegar, yeast, light ginger and funky must on the end. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, high acidity.

Bottle thanks to Ernesto. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with minor white head. Aroma is lemon and slight funk. Taste is hugely sour to the point of burning the throat if it goes down wrong. A bit harsh to say the least. As the beer warms the lemon grass really shows itself more than just acetic sour.

Draft, brewery APPEARANCE – golden yellow, with very finely bubbled head. NOSE - Slightly tart scents, with a ginger ale backdrop. The nose confirms this is a sour, not something mass produced by the big 3. FLAVOR – Packs a sour punch right off the start. Ends with the slightest hint of almost (but not quite) sweetness. NOTES - excellent brew.

Hazy gold-amber, large white head fizzes out in seconds, tepid after. Husky spice aroma dominates, more spice than Berliner, the ginger dominates with light citric, soap bucket after a car wash. Front palate is chalky, mineral, lemongrass acidity burns through mid, lime emerging with serious burn, dominating until the dusty end, faint dough, lactic replaced by solvent, fizzy full body fills unpleasantly.

Pour is a deeper yellow with a good bit of white head. Nose is huge musky sweat ginger with a hint of lemon and spicy tang. Taste is very sweet, tons of sweaty ginger, tangy, citrus, chlorine like mineral in the back. Bigger body, a bit juicy, softer carbonation. The spice is so strong I just can’t handle it.

Bottle shared by Jcwatts. Pours clear gold. Nose/taste of ginger, lemongrass, sour wheat, sour banana and floral. Light tartness. Touch soapy on the nose. Lighter body. Refreshing.

750ml bottle pours opaque pale straw yellow with 2 finger head. Nose is musty ginger, light funk, lemon peel, touch of grass, sourdough. Taste is brigh crisp lactic acidity, fresh ginger, herb, lemon, citrus. Finish is dry tart hebal lemon, ginger, spice, grass. Tasty and great on a hot summer night!

750ml bottle pours a hazy gold with some thin, white head. Nose has a lot of hibiscus, peppercorn, ginger, lime... but honestly quite a bit of butyric acid in the form of a vomit like character. Flavor has a lot more butyric acid, real bile character, peppercorn, heavy lime, blood orange. Acetic finish.
