Draught at the Tanabata Beer Festa Toyama, 2010. The color of a Mango Milkshake. No head, no fizz. Tangy, creamy mango nose. Thick, puree-like body with lots of mango meat. Nice mango flavor is refreshing and not too sweet. A bit of unwanted cardboard flavor too. Maybe I sense a bit of hop? Otherwise nothing like a beer, but very nice on a hot summer morning for breakfast.

12oz bottle from Takanaya in Tokyo. Rotten mango smell. Mango juice color and thickness. I’ve never seen a beer so thick. Taste surprises you, because you expect Mango sweetness, but it’s dry. no hops discernable over the super over-ripe mango smell. Flat, no head (despite the name). I don’t seem to like Niigata beers. it looks like they are trying to hard to be original, and not hard enough trying to be good.
