Nikko Beer (Black)

This beer isn’t labeled but one store i found it at had a name tag and listed it as Nikko Black. Not many were left compared to the regular one so I skipped on buying the blond and took two blacks home. Poured nice. Almost got a collar on the top but quickly went away. Smells like carbonation gas. Not much of a hop aroma. The first taste is a very mineral water taste. It says on the bottle made with "clear pure water" that I’m sure came by from the surrounding streams in Nikko. Nothing special. I’d rather have the unfiltered water of Nikko in a cup than this at the moment. The taste goes into an after taste of a golder lager taste of most generic main stream Japanese beer. After taste is OK but comes off as a watered down version of Asahi Black or Ebisu Black. I gave up drinking this toward the bottom 1/8. Not too bad but will never buy this again. There’s not much to do in Nikko. The Nikko brewery closes at 4:30 (I didn’t go) like most places do in Nikko.
