Bottled, thanks IslandHaole! Hazy golden, grassy nose. Very dry and solidly malty. Coarse malt character and really bitter finish. Not overly complex, but still good, and strikingly similar to Jever.

Bottled (thanks omhper!). Golden colour, mediumsized white head which vanishes quite quickly. Aroma is grainy, a bit grassy and strange skunky notes. Also some ricelike sweetness. Flavour is quite much the same.

Straw colour with a lifeless, fading head. Grassy-fruity hop aroma with bready notes underneath. Full body for style. Abundant bready malt character with grassy back notes. Not very bitter, but hugely spicy in the finish (hop spicy, that is). Stylish, offbeat lager.

Bottled (BB 07/2009). Golden color, small white head. Skunky hops, light citrusy perfume and apple in the nose. Sweetish corn malts, same perfumic citrus than in the nose and Saaz(?) hops in the flavor. Fresh bottle would probably be quite ok pale lager, this a bit old one was slightly "too exotic".

My Bottom Line:
Toasted malts all the way once again for this Nikko lager, but unlike their Amber, this one is subdued and storyless, trying too much to emulate the green-bottled macros.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam straddles the straw blond transparency.
-The soft carbonation and decent maltiness create a sufficiently pleasant mouthfeel.
-The total lack of hoppiness is disappointing.
-This is still clean and well-brewed, just not for the pleasure-seeking crowd.

Bottle; thx Tim!

Bottle (rated in Apr 2008). Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (grain, husks), trace hops (herbs), with a note of DMS. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, husky, unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.

Bottled. Slightly hazy golden coloured. Aroma of green apples. Some plastic notes, but in the nice way. Fruity and light. Slightly thin.

Bottle, 6 months past its "drink by" date. Big, meaty malt character. Low hops, but rich grainy malt and honey that seem to have been accentuated by time passing. Almost no hops, but I see here that it probably had few to begin with. Just a touch of grassy citrus in there somewhere. Tasty enough.
