IslandHaole (1026), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan Jan 19, 2006 This beer was made by the Nikko Brewery to commemorate the 130th Anniversary of the Kanaya Hotel, a famous Hotel in Nikko. An orange colored brew with small particles and a small, off-white head. Nice malty (crystal?) scent with a pine/floral hop snap to it. Crisp hop taste up front, slightly caramel malty taste, sweet short lived middle fading to a bitter hop follow. Another solid brew from Nikko. Somewhat reminds me of Sam Adams Boston Lager. Nikko is a “must see” if you visit Japan, don’t forget to stop at the Kanaya hotel and have a few of these tasty brews!
