3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa in Rome, leftovers from the FrankenBierFest. Hazy bright yellow, sparkling and effervescent in the glass with a billowy white head. Strong mineral quality to the nose with hoppy notes of lemon juice and lemon zest, very vibrant and clean with sharp calcium notes. Medium-light bodied, crisp and smacking with lean sugars washed away well by the strong carbonic acid. It’s a little too rough in the mouth and could probably benefit from lighter CO2 and longer lagering, but the aroma and flavor is quite strong and enjoyable, and flavor balance maintained, good malt presence with moderate to low sugar and zesty bitterness. Quite good as it is, but with some polishing this could be next-level lager.
