2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Age unknown but it looks like the one in the picture at this site.
No head when poured. Thin lacing...almost cirrus cloud-like formations as it’s sipped away. Golden in color in my snifter...a few bits of light sediment accumulating at the bottom of the glass.
The taste comes on in fine British barley wine style -- malts up front...raisins...pepper...light hops...yum.
Unfortunately, it’s a bit too thin on the palate for my taste. Almost like sipping water on the backend. Too bad cause this might otherwise have been one of the best British barley wines out there for the price. The "thiness" of the backend killed it for me. Not sure if I’ll buy this one again.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Bronze with a small head. Sweetness dominates with as is to be expected a strong presence of alcohol. A bit overpowering but still a pleasant experience.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours lightish brown with a small and transient head. Intense, sweetish aroma with loads of tropical fruits, a lightly roasted hint, some honey and a bit of flowers. In some ways quite reminiscent of a sauternes wine but with added maltiness. Sweetish on the palate but with nice freshness. Butterscotch and light maltiness dominates. No real bitterness or alcoholic burn save for a slightly warmin feeling all the way down the throat.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Flaske 0,33l fra Systembolaget, e-beställning. Kjøpt sammen med og delt med Rune under rateseanse på Nerstranda 27 Mai 14. Gyldenbrun. Lavt luftig skum. God aroma av frukt & malt. Hint av mandler. Smaken er mandler. Antakeligvis alkoholen som manifisterer seg slik. Uvariert. Helheten blir vel søt & klissen.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle from Systembolaget e-beställning. Low bubbly, lacing layer at the top of a slightly unclear amber coloured body. Dried fruity aroma added by brown malts. Taste of dried fruit, almond, and caramel malts. Dry and sweet ending. Mostly masked alcohol. Near full bodied. Likable, but very little to keep all the sweetness at bay (shared with Finn at his place, Tromsø 27.05.2014).

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle @ home. Amber clear color with a little white head, small bubbles. Aroma is sweet, malty, and has a grainy rye-like feeling accompanied by lots of ripe plums, caramel, some toffee, bread and a well integrated alcohol note. Soft carbonated, big mouth feel. Sweet taste with plums, red currant, dried fruits, tofee, caramel, butterschotch and some oak notes. Finishes with a subtle and lasting spicy bitterness. Nice barley wine, but i guess it will become more complex as it ages.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Fruity aroma, balanced with caramel and hints of raisins. Caramel, peppermint cadycane, and bread taste. Well hidden alcohol taste. Not that heavy. Nice, subtle bitterness in the aftertaste.
